Starting lineup changes?

Start Heise and just hope he gets back to the level of play he ended last year with. We need that Heise back. That alone would make huge strides for us.

Let’s be glad we didn’t lose in the non conference because I don’t see us beating UCF. The slide continues.

I didn’t see the game,so maybe I am off. One problem could be guard foot speed. Lipsey and Heise are too slow. I would give Kelderman some minutes. Go with a 3g setup. If Pleta can shoot the 3, have him sub for Milan. JJ at the 5 , subbed by Buchanan. Starting guards are Bateman, Toure, Lipsey. Sub guards are Kelderman, Nelson, and Heise. Use 10 man rotation because players are burning out.
Kelderman is probably the least athletic G on the roster. Pleta can’t be a G on either end of the court.

Not sure what to do. Going small would help in some ways, but they got slaughtered on the offensive glass, esp when they did go to the small lineup.

I could post this in other related threads, and perhaps will, but Buchanan's slide puzzles me.

He has limits to "what he can do" in his role, but I was surprised how well he did at it until the past few games.

J-Jeff struggling probably doesn't help, either -- that had become an offensive tandem for variance.

(It isn't the ONLY puzzling aspect, just that I had thought he filled that position better than I would've expected).

More ball movement.
Yep, out of 51 FG, 37 were shot by Jefferson, Lipsey or Momcilovic. We need to share the ball more and get more scoring out of the other 6 guys that play, and most of this will solve itself.

Also clearly need to pick it up on the other end, because 70 should be enough points for this team to win if they're playing the defense that they're capable of.

I think Tamin is either hurt or barely keeping healthy enough to play. Jefferson is a turnover machine. Need Tamin running the point more aggressively and getting kick outs off penetration.

Our main problems I see are (i) not enough rebounding and (ii) not enough shooting. These are unfortunately very hard problems to address at the same time.

It's because teams are forcing us to do this with the defense they are throwing out. Teams are clogging the lane and forcing us to play hero ball. It's not like we just chose to stop passing. We have to make adjustments to get back to our game.

That being said, Buchanan has to get his game figured out, and Toure needs to break out of this offensive slump. If that doesn't happen, it's going to be hard to win games.

play Batemon more look to the future
That and Batemon can catch fire at any moment and change the game just like WVU. He gets burnt some on defense but its not for lack of effort.

It's coming along in spurts I think but Toure may be decent at driving and at least picking up a foul and getting to the line.

I'm guessing Buchanan can't hit consistently from the elbow or whatever; I think that would help.
