Star Wars Rogue One

I liked the Admiral Raddus character as a throwback to Ackbar.

I thought Ben Mendehlson did a great job as the Director even though I kept thinking of Bloodline.

K-2 was was almost getting to the Jar Jar annoying point for me.

I thought Saw Gerrera could have had a better ending.

Overall I loved the movie. I like that it was more "war based".

me thinks you crazy

I agree with 80% of your post. I couldn't disagree with you more on K2-SO. I thought he was fantastic. A droid with real personality and depth. Not just comic relief. I really liked that he was sarcastic and sassy.

I had to censor your post to remove mention of he who shall not be named. That "thing" almost single handedly ruined the prequels. They aren't great movies even without him, but with... ugh.

There's no way K2-SO in any way negatively impacts Rogue One for me and his valiant death actually made me sad.

My fiance had never watched any of the star wars movies so we did a star wars marathon before going to see Rogue One this past weekend.

She liked all the movies but even she was not a fan of *** ***

Finally saw this.

Man, so many things to say.

Loved Jyn Erso. Really, really disappointed we wont get to know her better.

Did anyone else get a very strong 'Halo Reach' vibe in this movie? A lot of similarities.

It was basically Halo Reach: A Star Wars rendition.

Hey, nerds. I haven't ever watched Star Wars. What order would you like me to watch them in knowing that Rogue One will have to be last. Do I go with release or actual order of events?

I was thinking about this the other day as I have some friends who have not seen them. I was kind of thinking 4-7, 1-3 and then Rogue One might be a good order. But I'm sure others have opinions

You can't go wrong with release order. 4-6, 1-3, 7, RO. You won't get any spoilers that way and you won't be confused by any of the inside references.

I personally like the following order:

4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6 then RO, and then 7

This gives you A New Hope and The Empire Strikes back to set up the plot. Episodes 1,2, and 3 are the backstory for Anakin Skywalker, and they Return of the Jedi is the conclusion of the Anakin Skywalker story, including his redemption.

Rogue One could be put first, before A New Hope, but there are so many references to A New Hope that I'm not sure it is as interesting or entertaining as the first movie of the series.

Well if I wanted a bunch of different opinions I would have googled it. Of all places, I expected CF to give me one, unified opinion.

I also kind of lied about not seeing them. I half ass watched 4 and 5 but I need to pay beter attention I think.

Some fanboy made what he thought was his perfect order to watch the movies and this was it except one thing. He literally left out Phantom. And I can't really disagree. Phantom brings almost nothing to the table and if you ignore Phantom you get rid of the "midi-chlorians" which honestly was the dumbest ******* explanation for the force ever.

If Disney really wanted to cash in and make everybody happy at the same time they would table the young Han Solo movie and instead reboot the prequels. But that'll never happen.

The order you can't go wrong with is release order. There's too many references in the Prequels to the Original Trilogy for watching them in episode order to make sense. I personally prefer the order I stated earlier. That's the order I showed the movies to my wife, who was a Star Wars virgin until a few years ago.

Yeah, that's Machete Order. I understand leaving out Episode 1, but I don't like doing it.

A reboot of the prequels could be coming after Episode 9. I know the plan is Episode 8 next year, Han Solo movie in 2018, Episode 9 in '19, and another non-Episode movie in '20 (like Rogue One). So for 2021 and on, if Disney wants to keep cashing in, they could go back to Episodes 1-3.

Can you imagine a version of the prequels that didn't suck? What a world.

I might be in the minority, but I don't think you can just go back and reboot the prequels, even if they were the weakest films in the franchise.

There are Anti-Cheese edits out there on YouTube and elsewhere that really do help the films. Just changing some of the horrible voice acting to alien language and subtitles helps a ton.

Perhaps they could issue a "Disney cut" of the films with edits made by their pros. I'm sure the technology for that will only improve over the next few years. But a complete re-do of the whole shebang would be a no-no.
