Really enjoyed the episode. Excellent light saber fighting. The last 5 mins were as good as Star Wars gets.

I greatly enjoy the contrasting fighting styles. It reminds me a bit of Highlander when immortals fought with different swords. Baylan was definitely using a medieval claymore power style while Ahsoka countered by using her main saber in the style of Japanese noadchi instead of her usual two saber style. Just shows how good of a saber fighter Ahsoka is when she can switch between multiple styles effortlessly.

The other fight showed that Sabine is going to have to rely on her Mandalorian training to overcome her Force shortcomings. She's going to have to find that balance to survive.

The episode was the best one to date. Cool to see Brendan Wayne (one of Mando's doubles) get an on screen role as an X-wing pilot.

Yeah it was cool to see contrasting styles. I definitely noticed that Baylan looked more like he was using a great sword. That was a fun scene

I watched that particular episode of Rebels. I've not watched all of Rebels.

I did like the fight scenes, even if the sequence was a bit predictable.

Solid episode. Fights were well done, not a ton of filler. Baylon is a very conflicted force wielding "villain". Believes deeply in his cause but also wants to avoid taking lives unnecessarily.

I thought he looked more like the Anakin from the guy who does the deep fakes of Obi-wan, Qui Gon, and Anakin watching some of these show.

Really enjoyed this epsisode, but I don't critique star wars like a lot of fans. Any star wars is good star wars to me. I had a good laugh when they didn't follow the advice of Huyang after like 30 seconds of fighting.

I don't really critique it, but obviously I like some better than others. I kind of dislike when they go too far into the fan service. Like what Marvel did with Endgame...that was over the top. Not that I didn't enjoy it, but it probably went too far. I thought the SW sequels did a little too much of that and a little too much recycling of stories.

Mando S1 and S2 I thought were great. Boba Fett and Obi-Wan were OK and worth watching. Mando S3 took a big downturn IMO. But Andor was IMO the best SW content since ESB. No real fan service, just a great storyline.

Yeah I agree with you. I obviously have things I love more than others, but I am not going to freak out over dialogue or what a lighsaber can actually do to a human. Comepletey agree on Andor, that was just a great tv show in general.

I thought both Mando S1 and Andor were fantastic, Mando S2 were really good, Mando S3 was okay, Obi-Wan was a mixed bag, and Boba Fett was mostly bad.

Wow. I think that's the first time I've heard anyone say that. Outside of the completely inorganic A-Force reference, that movie never felt like it was over the top fan service. Was it not quite as strong as Infinity War? Sure. Did it use a time travel plot to mine the MCU history for set pieces making the movie a retrospective of the MCU itself? Yep, but that was all earned from over a decade of movie making and story telling. But no one went into Endgame as their first Marvel movie without at least some knowledge of the MCU history. Just imagine walking into Endgame and going "Who's this Thanos fella they're so mad at?"

Fan service and easter eggs aren't bad if they don't detract from the story. Even Andor has quite a few easter eggs. Luthien's shop is full of them and even has stuff from Indiana Jones in it.

I didn't have a problem with Endgame until the final battle. Other than the IM/SP/Thor/Thanos battle, I thought it was over the top. Especially the "let's group all the female characters together and have them fight". Or the having ships and flying characters moving at the same speed as people running. Other than that, I didn't have a problem with the time travel or overall story.

I agree that fan service is fine and easter eggs are great if they don't detract from the story. I jumped out of my seat when Luke showed up in Mando S2. I really don't have much criticism of Ahsoka other than why everyone is so scared of Thrawn...and I've read the Zahn books. They probably need to go into more depth on why this whole thing is so important.

It's weird, even in Rebels Thrawn is just presented as "this dude is super bad news". In this canon his only impact on the Civil War is, what, the space battle where the home plate/drydock they stole gets blown up? I guess they could turn him into Zahn's character once he's back from nuGalaxy

There are I think 6 new canon books on Thrawn. I've only read the first, so not totally sure his journey to this greatly feared enemy, but I just picked up the second two so I'm eager to find out.

I have the first trilogy. I enjoyed it. Haven't taken the time to read the new trilogy.

I mean, in episode 1 Baylan killed a bunch of random new republic people on the ship to free his boss lady. He didn't really take the time to restrain but not kill them ...

We'll have to see where he's going with Sabine. Maybe make her one of his "kind?"

He seems way more conflicted about killing other force users than he does the normies or maybe that's just how he feels about Ashoka. Next week if the speculation is correct could be wild.

Yes, and what is his connection to Anakin? Seems he at least was an acquaintance. Will that come into play?

Super bummed the actor who played him died, would have liked to see that character for more than just 1 season (in addition to the sadness/tragedy of any death).

I'd have to re-watch the episode, but was Baylan referring to fall of Anakin and the brief time period where he murdered younglings and the Separatist leaders or the broken man being kept alive by machinery?

There's supposed to be only a small handful people that knew Anakin survived his duel with Obi-wan and was in the suit. The Emperor, Obi-wan and maybe Yoda pre-ANH, Luke in ESB, Leia in ROTJ. Ahsoka found out during her duel with him. Thrawn figured it out, and Takin suspected Vader was Anakin. Reva threw it out in the Obi-wan series as a way to taunt Kenobi, so that is technically how he found out. Although the explanation for how she knew for certain was never clear. Even after Luke and Leia found out, it didn't become public knowledge until almost 25 years after Endor per the canon novel Bloodlines.

I dunno, I just don’t suspect full on evil from him and we may see a turn in his character, coming back to the light in some form.

I thought I read somewhere that he was a former guard at the Jedi Temple. I agree that he's pretty good in that role. Just from watching Clone Wars and Rebels, it's pretty clear that Ahsoka is pretty good with a lightsaber...maybe the best if not right up there among them. That she struggled with Baylin tells me that he's pretty tough.

This is dumb and pointless, but if I were to rate how strong they are in a one on one lightsaber battle, I'd go:
1. Sidious
2. Anakin
3. Yoda
4. Ahsoka
5. Windu
6. Obi-Wan
7. Vader
8. Maul
9. Luke
10. Qui-Gon
