***OFFICIAL 2026 WEATHER THREAD***

I think some of you might be helped out if you would get your BMI down under 30 again (Guessing the average of a CF user is even higher than the general population). Being obese makes it tough when the mercury rises over 90. Afterall, it has happened 11 times this summer. Only 11 more times to go before we hit the normal for a summer.
Yah but that all turns in our favor starting Oct 1 through March.

This is extremely hot, but still incredibly doesn't come that close to 1934. lots of days over 105, with the hottest being 118.
In the 1850s, Ive heard that there was a year without a summer, snowed every month.

Looks like a very strong storm with a tornado observed moving south through Neenah and Oshkosh. Thankfully most aircraft and people are gone as it officially ended yesterday but a few days to a week ago this would have been VERY bad.

Feels like central Texas outside….i hated central Texas weather.

To be fair, I will long for this weather when it’s -50 windchill come February

I checked about 7 pm last night and it said the dew point in Ames was 85 per NOAA.gov. That’s nuts. I’ve experienced 80 in Florida and it was very uncomfortable.

I turned on the Cardinals game yesterday afternoon. Game time temp was 97 with a heat index of 119.

Acres of empty seats. I mean, it was the Reds and the Cardinals, not exactly a battle of midseason titans, but even Cardinals fans were smart enough to not go out and bake under the sun at Busch.
We thankfully did the game on Saturday, but were dumb at the zoo yesterday. I will say it was absolutely brutal and oppressive. Thankfully we were there mostly in the morning, but by the end we were all dead.

Cannot even imagine what going to Royals Stadium must be like. It's brutally hot there on a normal summer afternoon.

I was there a week ago Sunday during the previous heat bubble. Seats were in the shade the whole game. Still just constantly dripping with sweat.
