Yeah Kenobi is the most uneven series in terms of ranking best episode next to the worst. S2/S3 of Mando are a little uneven but avoid the episodes that are so bad I ask "why am I watching this?". Andor consistently builds up as it goes. Boba Fett to me never really hits a high to be that uneven.

At least there are some Kenobi episodes I truly loved, unlike Marvel series where I just got burned so many times I hung it up completely

I had a hard time with Kenobi from the get go. The whole concept just didn't land with me and the very few standout moments couldn't salvage the series. It and Secret Invasion have been the only two series for Marvel/Star Wars on D+ that I flat out felt served no purpose other than to ruin the characters as we knew them.

Young Ahsoka was that way. This is more weary, older Ahsoka. One that had the entire foundation of everything she was destroyed by being betrayed by the Jedi and then finding out her former master became everything they were fighting against. She found a new place with those fighting against the tyranny and has been doing that for close to 30 years. She's sick of war, but knows that if she doesn't keep fighting, more people will needlessly suffer. Frankly, the fact that she can even crack a smile is incredible.

I was going to say the same thing. Younger Ashoka was talkative and snappy. The Ashoka you see in Rebels, and even season 6 of the clone wars, was more mature.

Just finished the 2nd episode and I really like it. Can't wait to see where the story goes and who the Inquisitor type character is. There is one kinda obvious theory out there if they are looking for an "Oh ****" moment. I'm not sure I think that's who it is, but my interest is definitely peaked.

It's kind of fun like reading a comic book, but not exactly deep. Very predictable.

I agree with your statements. I thought there was some really cool scenes though. The Japanese samurai style is really heavy in this episode. I enjoy that about Dave’s writing.

After what she endured and witnessed at the end of Clone Wars, how could she not be different? That last episode, especially the closing, dealt with some dark and heavy stuff.

So far I think the show Ahsoka is fine, but, as a huge Rebels fan, I’m also lapping up all of the fan-service being delivered. Loth-cats, yes please. If a Loth-wolf guides Sabine at some time… overload.

I haven't seen the show yet, but planning on subscribing to Disney Plus again soon. But to those who haven't watched the clone wars, but have seen the recent stuff on Disney +, probably don't know the beginning of her story.

The episode was too short this week but I agree it was pretty heavy on the samurai undertones. Personally I could see her as a Ronin architype and I'm just fine with seeing more of that.

Say it with me now. Space Fantasy. SW has never been too keen on adhering to real world physics, especially when it gets in the way of the story. If we start to thinking about what a lightsaber stab would do to a human body, then we'd have to start thinking about the effects on the wielder holding this 23,000 degree matchstick literally inches from their faces. No one really wants to do that, so a lightsaber just becomes a super-duper samurai sword that can cut through almost anything.

Beyond that, the story has already attempted to explain this to a degree. lightsaber crystals tend to have a connection to the force-wielder (and the crystals are almost portrayed as semi-sentient) so there's an element of "the lightsaber does what its wielder wants it to do". Want it to behave like a sword that cauterizes? It'll do that. Want it to behave like a torch that can cut through anything? It'll do that too. Want it to do both, and cut a hole then immediately cool down so the user can use the hilt as a handhold instead of falling off something? It'll do that too.

That and it was a joke. I mean most if not all of us watch these things because we can suspend disbelief for a bit. I cant imagine enjoying any of this stuff if I took it all literal. Ha!

It has always been all over the place. Sometimes someone gets a blaster shot and dies immediately, other times they don't. A starfighter gets hit multiple times from capital ship turbolasers and keeps on trucking. A single shot from a snubfight to a cruiser's bridge and we get Mary Poppins. It's always been whatever is most convenient from the story standpoint.

Nitpickers are the first to buy tickets and historically, will purchase anything with the franchise's brand. In 2023, when the studios don't see the numbers they want, the Nitpickers are always the first to blame. Hollywood is rapidly descending in the "find out" phase of that strategy.
