Captains the ship Asoka is on when she finally finds Ezra… Dies fouling Thrawn’s attempt at capturing Asoka and Ezra during their escape.
Dave Filoni gave the SWU so many interesting characters and storylines that they could continue to turn out brilliant content (aka the opposite of SW9) for decades to come.
Interesting new strategy obviously to drum up further support for this series. I believe this is the first time any exclusive Disney+ original content has been put on any other Disney platform.
I wonder if they know they've got something that's award worthy so they are trying to increase exposure.
Could backfire though as the first 2 are extremely slow.
That's actually how I watched the first episode of Game of Thrones.
True, but the first 2 episodes are still WAY better than 90% of the garbage on network tv.
Yeah, I personally would have gone with the first 4 episodes

So confirmed that Luthen is a Jedi right? That looked like a lightsaber hilt at Saw’s base and he shredded that Tie flight in a way that only a Jedi could

It's the best thing (Star Wars or otherwise) that's been on TV in a while. And I just finished House of the Dragon and Rings of Power.I've been waiting to binge Andor here later this month. I can't wait.

The look on the Imperial Captain's Face when Luithen escaped the tractor beam was pretty awesome!
I know. This week was excellent, but was very much putting the chess pieces in place for the finale. I'm excited to see what happens, but I really don't want the show to end for this season.
Filoni is so good at this. I think that what you're seeing now is film makers and writers who grew up with the OT and once ROTJ was done, there was kind of this big hole for 15 years. Those three movies made such a huge impact and then after that, kids who lived and died with those movies had zero new content growing up, so they were forced to use their imagination to continue that universe. I was one of those kids and remember thinking...What were the Clone Wars? How did the Rebellion get the Death Star plans? Could Yoda fight? What kind of other bounties did Boba Fett go after? How did the Obi-Wan/Anakin relationship go bad?
These directors now are completely untethered to Lucas, who should be praised for creating this universe, but also took it down the wrong path IMO. No one needed Jar Jar stepping in poop or burping to find comedy, the droids were enough to lighten things up. IMO he underestimated kids' ability to appreciate things a little more serious and dark and some subtle humor that isn't in your face.
Anyway, Filoni is now building on his own universe. I don't know how much he has to do with Andor, but that and Rogue One are kind of an ode to all those kids that grew up with no new SW movies and wondered how the story got to ANH. It's SW for adults and I'm glad someone did it.
That baton thingy that the one dude held up or was it something else? Otherwise, I must have missed it. But the way he took out those TIEs was pretty slick. Not sure if that points to him being a Force user, but that ship is clearly tricked out.
It also doesn't bode well for Saw's group if an Imp ship is just hanging in space above them. I do wonder if Saw decides to go try to help Kreeger anyway and it goes poorly. Sometime in the next 3 years he gets hurt bad enough to lose part of a leg and need that breathing apparatus he uses in Rogue One.

I loved the cool way that little ship took out the TIEs but my son and I looked at each other afterward and wondered why that technology hadnt carried forward. Something like that wont make a bit of difference to us but I can hear the nerds going ballistic about it from my computer chair.
Catching up on Andor after not being blown away by first three episodes. On 8 now.
People were not kidding when they say it gets better.
Episode 6 might be single best episode of all these series. Really not going to get much better than that.
In some ways these episodes 4-8 are what I’d have played out in my head as a Star Wars prequel, maybe more than Rogue One. The action hitting in episode 6 after the political and character build up was pretty great.
