It will always be Elwood to me.

I assumed that the outside ramp would be for student queueing in lines prior to the gate open times. Other than congestion on the north side, I don't see any benefit of using the outside ramp versus the interior ramps.I didn't realize that they were putting in those outside ramps to the ends of the concourse as well. That will clear up congestion a TON.
My RV driver is a pro with backing in so no worries as we often show up later.RV spots are 55 feet long (each continuous patch of concrete is 110 feet long and holds 2 spots).
The concrete is 10 feet wide and the grass is 14 feet wide.
The road between rows is 22 feet side. I hope latecomers are good at backing up.
I believe it’s so people can use the bridge and then head north (for whatever reason) before the gates open.I assumed that the outside ramp would be for student queueing in lines prior to the gate open times. Other than congestion on the north side, I don't see any benefit of using the outside ramp versus the interior ramps.

Are the stadium stairs remaining in place on each side of the bridge or will the S lot tailgaters on the east side have to walk towards University and use the stairs there to enter with the bridge?
This is the correct answerIt will always be Elwood to me.
Anyone who parks on the east side and has tickets on the west side might be better off going around to the north gate for entry.
The intersection SE of the stadium next to the designated student drinking area has always been a disaster to keep the vehicle flow moving. I expect less stoppage of north south traffic flow and the students crossing to the north to crossover on the new bridge. We park in the Vet Med parking and I assume we will use the bridge.
I was hoping for a monorail like Shelbyville has!Thx for the pics!
The new bullet train to the airport is progressing well.
Honestly, I thought the bridge was a great idea and looks great, but that outside ramp; I just didn't see that coming and it's butt ugly. Makes the stadium look a bit industrial now.Is anyone actually upset about the bridge or new lot? I know of only one guy that’s actually pissed about this.
The other part that gets lost in all of this is that also out of that 48' in the old lots was leaving room for an aisle for people to walk through as long as you weren't one of those inconsiderate folks who extended your tailgate clear to the center of the driving aisle so people passing by had nowhere to walk at all. With these new tailgate areas there is no need to reserve space for people to walk through since people will be walking down the paved roads. It works out to the exact same amount of space, with grass instead of just concrete.
The D-lot rows are 48' on center. With 2 RVs per row, that's 24' of space for each.
In the new RV park, each RV has 10' of concrete and 14' of grass, which adds up to...24'.
Probably will cross at 16th but jaywalking is going to be a lot tougher with the fence they are putting up along Elwood.Yes, that’s not gonna happen. Drunk college kids are gonna cross at 16th or jaywalk like always.
Bridge is cool, but it’s barely gonna get used
That’s because it is the official university font.A reminder that the bridge is ALSO serving a purpose to provide a more grand entrance as people are coming into Iowa State University and into the new Power and Lights Jr. district that JP will be throwing up; it goes beyond just getting people into games 6 times a year.
My only dislike is the font of Iowa State University. They could have gone with more business professional, more athletic-y, more exciting, more fun, but they chose the same dog **** font they have at Reiman
