Fareway meat is better. Especially if you get whole pork loins or whole ribeyes. Chicken and seafood probably not so much.

Agree. I like this experiment by Fareway. I'd be a customer as we currently go to Fareway for only meat purchases.

Yeah, sounds like a great plan to me. Meats, cheese, beer, snacks, wine, charcoal, buns are all at the Omaha location and this one says sushi as well?

Some people don’t want to have to go into a huge store, hassle with a big parking lot, etc.
I’ve personally never been a fan of HyVees meat dept. They like to advertise many things per cost and not by oz or lb. There aren’t a lot of food items in a grocery store like that but HyVee loves to do it in their meat dept for some reason.

Because when you turn it into a per # price they are usually kind of high.

I like it - we shop HyVee for most stuff, but Fareway for meat & meat sales. Will definitely check it out.

Once we realized how much we'd save 10 years ago, we shop Fareway for almost all of our groceries each week. Then we pick up 4 or 5 items at HyVee that Fareway doesn't carry.

I don't care for the store brand products at Fareway. They're cheaper, but the quality drops off sharply (IMO). And the Fareway near us is a small one.

i'm kind of similar. I get hyvee delivered periodically for most of my pantry foods and other grocery store items, and then go to fareway for meats\fruits\vegetables on a spot basis. I could see quite a market for small shops just to pick up the things that go bad quicker as more people do deliveries of the things that last longer.
