Ok but what does that mean? What are you saying he's not doing that he should be doing?
I don't want to get into a semantics battle about what specifically means but that ain't it.
I think he is saying that CMC would just prefer the ST play be over as quickly and inconsequentially as possible and the offense or defense can get back on the field.
Go into winter workouts, spring ball, summer workouts, fall pre season and triple or more the time you dedicate to special team practice and player development. I don't know exactly what Campbell does to put the ST product on the field he does ... but it's obviously a D priority to him.
Not really when he has had quality specialists. Tyler and Kyle are elite, but unfortunately Jace is hurt and Kyle is returning from injury. Totally changed our special teams.
I think the thing that pisses me off the most about our punt fumble issues is the fact that we fair catch pretty much everything. So the fact we have people blocking and not knowing where TF they are is infuriating.
As much as I hate to say it ... look at a team and head coach like Iowa that prioritizes special teams ... and yes, margins. They know they don't have the talent to out cute other teams ... but they win in the special team battle and it pays off. Now I have to go shower.

From our vantage point in the stadium it appeared that he was trying to disengage but the BYU player was holding him from doing so. Have not watched it back on TV.
I disagree. The past 2 or 3 years they did make it a priority. And it was better, and it won them games. Now its back to crap.
This year the coverage has been worse and we need it way more because once again cant get touchbacks.
What was BYU starting position after ISU scores? The 35 or 40? Just momentum killers.
Not even to talk about yet another boneheaded mistake in the punt return team. Thats at least 3 this year.
Its really disappointing. Good ST can win you close games, which is what all of ISUs games are. Kapt Kirk and the Vampire won so many games w good ST.
It could be the other teams kicker kicks it our of the endzone. We can't even kickto the 5 yard line. Other team ends up on the 40-45. We should just kick it our of bounds and give it up to the 35.
