Minus our place kicker who is really good. Who coaches our special teams. It’s dreadful. We don’t let outr kick return guys to return kickoffs, our guys seemed lost. Long snapper for place kickers had two terrible snaps. Luckily the place kick holder guy scooped it up and got the ball down. Like what is going on.

The fact that they continue to make the same exact mistakes that have cost them for 10 years now is truly impressive.

Kickoff coverage has also been terrible all year. I don’t know that we’ve even attempted a return on a kickoff since Townsend screwed up the one against Iowa.

This has been the case since Campbell stepped foot on campus. He doesn't prioritize ST.

Maybe im being naive but it seems to me on a team of 85 young athletes at the peak of their physical lives we should be able to find someone that can kick the ball off a tee deeper than the 15 or 20 yard line. Im not talking about making a field goal through uprights im talking about kicking the ball 65 yds off a tee. The short kickoffs have absolutely destroyed this team in every loss.

We lost the game today due to poor play in other areas, but special teams was setting up to be the reason we lost.

Why doesn’t Kyle do kickoffs. He can kick the crap out of the ball

You could do tryouts on campus and find kids who could do that. It's not complicated. Start with the soccer club team.

Definitely is a frustrating issue. Gilbert’s injury in Ireland turned out to be a big one

It’s not that he doesn’t prioritize them. It’s that his teams don’t participate in them at all in some aspects. Sure we kick some FGs and extra points, but the fair catches on returnable kicks is gutless coaching. I get not wanting to make mistakes on ST, but this has always rubbed me the wrong way.
