Taking a knee was the one way there was zero chance of losing. Score, they score a quick touchdown, which they already had and all it takes to lose is a successful onside kick. I'm glad Campbell isn't as myopic and vengeful as you.I don’t disagree with Campbell a lot, but he should have punched it in against KState but I know he has a lot of respect for Klieman.
Selfishly, I hate KState more than Iowa.
K state could also block the extra point and take it back for 2 points of their own getting the ball back down 7.Taking a knee was the one way there was zero chance of losing. Ah...what??If you need to punch it in when you could kneel to end the game to get 93, you aren't really scoring 93. You are being trying to pad the stats. We had the rest of the game to get there.
1:31 left and K-State had one timeout. If Lanning just takes 3 seconds per kneel, at WORST you have to snap the ball with a second or two left and you launch that sucker to a WR out of bounds down the field.
Funny story, as I was on the sideline for that game as a student manager. With my role, I had a headset on with the defensive coaches in my ears. After the 4th down stop, everyone is celebrating until they see the offense set up in a formation. Wally and Shane Burnham start screaming “WHAT ARE WE DOING?” and were trying to get Rhoads’ attention to call timeout before the ball had been snapped. The rest is history. Not a fun trip home
You need to dial it back. I see why other fan bases think we are dicks. We eat our own over silly stuff.I’m glad you forget how much time was actually left on the last knee lol. Some of you guys are responding like KState would even have 30 seconds of clock left (mind you, with zero timeouts). My supposed myopic and vengeful opinion was running a sneak with a few seconds left on the clock. Some of the replies have been absolutely asinine. Onto Iowa, I suppose!
This message board has alot of hot takes and gatekeepers. You need to dial it back. I see why other fan bases think we are dicks. We eat our own over silly stuff.

You ignore the replies to me but I’m the one that needs to dial it back?
Have you gone back and edited the original comment in which you didn't explain that you're talking about running it down to like 2 seconds before trying to score?
Then you don't have to keep explaining yourself.

My point was that it is less impressive to have 62 points when you have to punch it in with less than a minute left (and could have knelt to end the game) than if you scored 62 in the normal flow of the game. Most teams either kneel or have conservative runs with their 3rd or 4th string when they are up big late in the 4th. While there is the argument that the 4th stringer may not get a ton of opportunities to score a touchdown, there is the flip side that you can avoid any further injuries, stay classy, and get out of there as quickly as possible. Go look at the play-by-play of other lopsided games. Kneeling is pretty normal. Punching it in with 30 seconds left is pretty rare and does not earn more respect for the teams that do it, generally speaking.Ah...what??
What needs to be edited about it? I clearly explained it numerous times after to which posters still replied those follow up posts. Two posts later I even explained few seconds left. Lol

There were a few in the game thread iirc that wanted ISU to do that right away when they got to 1st and goal, and it looks like you're saying the same thing.
Your original post (bottom) doesn't clarify that you're talking about with 2 seconds left.
If you want to keep explaining that to posters as they keep quoting you, go for it.
I wasn’t in the game thread, and literally two posts later is the first explanation, posters have replied to my posts even when I said a few seconds left. Try again.
Hunter Dekkers was in a NFL camp this year. If he can make that happen out of NAIA Bouman can do that from FCS.Off this game, no. If they have a great season and play in the Championship, possibly.
I like fiesty hawk hating Harimad.******* Hayden Fry would do it. After what that raisin-faced horse-toothed pig-******* sonofabitch did against us in the 80s, we can do whatever we want in the Iowa game and I won't hold it against Campbell.
I thought Heft & Walters did a fine job keeping up with the multiple substitutions and gave the reserves much respect and called the game well all the way to the end.CMC kneeled it so they didnt lose by 8TDs.
Starters were starting to sit, what, 6 mins into the third qtr?
A lotta copium with some of those fans.
