"Sooner" or Later We'll Be #1

First, that's outstanding.

Second, nobody wants to talk about how prescient that sign is??? Had Agnew not taken that tax evasion charge (and been guilty as hell) he WOULD HAVE BEEN number one in '74...SOONER than '76.

That thing belongs in the Smithsonian.

That account sounds like satire, but that was the actual final score.

I have no knowledge of details, but losing in that fashion would not surprise me.

ISU scored on its first 3 possessions and led 21-0 after the first quarter.
OU eventually came back to make it 21-21.
ISU scored to go up 28-21 with 4:29 left in the game.
Sooners hit a long reverse pass on third down to keep possession on their next drive. Finished it off with a TD with under 2:30 to play, and Greg Pruitt ran in the 2-point conversion for the 29-28 margin.

There's too many ISU games like this to keep track of.

I still remember Back to the Future 2. Biff was listening to college football scores on the radio, and one of them was Oklahoma 56 Iowa State 14 or something like that.

Those were actually the scores from Nov. 12, 1955 (it was 52-0, BTW). Great piece of detail work.
