Did you watch the Pitt game on Thursday? Just because you don’t get it doesn’t make it bad.
It's not that serious. The song in itself is terrible. There's really no debating that. If it pumps up a crowd, great. I just don't understand how it works because it doesn't strike me as a hype song. It doesn't go anywhere. Might as well just play a single bass line and call it good.

You're full of crap. The song gets people hyped up. I like rock music too, but some random Metallica song does not have the same effect on today's generation like something with a solid beat and club-type bass.
After power as they start walking out, They switched the 2nd (normally live the night) and 3rd (normally money for nothing) songs for eachother. I think somebody just hit the wrong button.
Here's why I don't understand the people that complain about the music. Don't you just start to associate the songs with good memories and then just ignore the fact that you think they are bad songs? Even if I hated Juicy Wiggle, I'd still love hearing it because it brings me back to that magical night against West Virginia or countless other games. Even if I hated Sweet Carolina, I'd still associate with Iowa State wins. The students don't do that stupid dance when Juicy Wiggle plays because they think it a good dance, they do it because it is fun. Swag Surfin' is a dumb song, but whenever I hear it, I think of the players dancing on the sidelines in the home game of the weird 2020 season. So, therefore, it makes me happy.

I don't like playing metal or ****** rock songs to pump up a crowd. I agree that big beats are usually the most effective. But that song is awful. Barely music. I don't see the appeal as a pump up song other than students probably know the melody and it's simple.
If they played that at Jack Trice, you'd have 40,000 boomers looking around and 10,000 students dancing.
I don't see anything in those videos other than a really loud crowd because it's a big game. I don't see the song creating a frenzy like Sandstorm does at South Carolina.
I agree. The juicy wiggle dance is cringe, but I still enjoy when the song is played at JTS.
I still don't get how we can't come up with twin twisters at the end of the tunnel that form Cyclones using huge fans and smoke/fog machines.
