Songs in Jack Trice

I still don't get how we can't come up with twin twisters at the end of the tunnel that form Cyclones using huge fans and smoke/fog machines.

We're an engineering school dammit, come on nerds, make it happen. Like this video at the 4 minute mark, but aiming upward.

Make the opponents run through that.

The intro guitar solo for Money for Nothing always plays right before kickoff.

One of my all-time favorite songs. I first heard it on a transistor radio while I was in Basic Training lying in my bunk after lights out. I was already a Dire Straits fan, but when I heard that song the first time, I was like: "Whoa!" When I heard it yesterday, I was like: "Hey, a song I know and love!" :)

This is the song the team should come out to IMO. The place would be rockin'.
Dumb. It’s horrific. Juicy and Sweet Caroline are traditions that just happened over time and the kids and crowd live them. Juicy has a t-shirt now.

That looks like a crazy college football atmosphere with fans not noticing the song being played. I'm missing something on this song.
You nailed it. The song has nothing to do with the crowd. Luckily the crowd was loud enough to drown it out.

I’m pretty sure a stadium edit of Mo Bamba has played during pre-game at some point in the past.

Won't Back Down needs to go as the 3rd - 4th quarter song

Maybe I’m old, sometimes it’d be nice to not have music blaring the whole time during a break. I’m good with the music before the game, to get things rolling between quarters, fine, but not all the time. Sometimes being able to just talk to the people around me is ok.

Someone on Twitter brought up the point to drop Kanye for our entrance music. Generally, I’m not a fan of cancel culture but I think it’s a good idea. Kanye is a terrible person.

Agree even before his latest rant. How about Poison's, "Nothin but a Good Time".

Make the whole intro out of Dire Straits.

In 2020 the university released a Spotify playlist with a lot of the stadium music for people watching form home due to COVID. It includes a lot of the music you hear on gameday.

Also related to the discussion of clean lyrics I actually always laugh when I think about all old people in the stadium dancing to music that if half of them knew the song would probably be appalled. Power, X gon give it to you, etc. They find a way to play them though. Heck even Dire Straights Money for Nothing is probably lucky it's survived cancel culture.

Interesting, I wasn't aware of this playlist. But when has "Build Me Up Buttercup" ever been played in the stadium?

I’m not a big cancel culture person either, but given that we’re honoring the 100th anniversary of Jack’s death, we probably shouldn’t enter the stadium to the music of an artist that’s openly racist and proud of it.
