We can be thankful that we were playing Nebby and not OU or one of the Texas teams, or I'm not sure we'd have been as fortunate. There is only one time I can ever remember officiating truly going in our favor (to clarify, these were all absolutely the correct calls):

Hmm, I know it won't happen but I wonder if the SEC west needs a new bottom feeder. We would drag their BBall and academics up a good bit as well.
Those people have been reprimanded by the Big 12. It will not happen again.
How many replay officials are there for a game, are they at the game or centrally located like they are in MLB?
I believe it's just one and he's at the game in the press box. I really think they should have some kind of a system though where multiple officials make the decision to overturn it. Either have something centrally located like MLB, or just have a tv on the side of the field the refs can go and watch replays on. Let all of them decide if it's indisputable or not.
If anyone watches our games they should just throw deep every play. Our guys get PI called on them about 50% of the time it seems. It's why we get beat at the end of games all the time. They start throwing the ball deep and we give up 15yds and a 1st down and stop the clock over and over and over again.

I applaud Pollard for his comment. I'm sure it will cost us dearly (and I mean in future games), but we don't get the benefit of the call anyways. Regardless if we win or lose games as a result of calls these young men work just as hard as any other player no matter what name is on their jersey and they deserve better. When this continues to happens to has to break the spirit of the players.
I see how it could be considered that way, but I think if JP's comments have been heard and can carry momentum forward, it may help, as there may be more eyeballs watching more closely to see if what he was saying is legit.
Iowa State has drawn 4 pass interference calls in the last year and half of Big 12 play vs. 18 being called on them. Last year the ratio was 1 to 13.
From the games that track the info, ISU has not had a call overturned in their favor for the last year and half of conference games.
Also attaching a link showing we are the 2nd least penalized team in the conference and top 25 nationally.

So what you're thinking is the refs give us passes on all the routine calls but will only whistle us when they know it is a crucial point in the game when momentum seems to be changing?
NEVER been able to accept a conspiracy against ISU.
Anyone remember the stat from last year that was something like Iowa State went 5 games before they got a first down from a penalty but the teams playing against ISU had 10+ first down's from penalties?

I think the most telling stat from last year was the one that showed we didn't have a defensive PI call enforced against an opponent throughout the entire year. There was one flag thrown for it, but the catch was made so the penalty was declined. An entire year without a defensive PI. Think about that, and then think about how many we got called for against Texas.
Some of that is due to our lack of aggressiveness in the passing game, but we were still throwing the ball and defenders were still out there against our receivers. At some point, you figure one would interfere out there.
