Good opening session for the clones...little too close for comfort but that's okay they get it done and that's all that matters.
Kysen wins the champ with a late 3rd period takedown being down 2-4 with about :01-:02 left on the clock...was right on the edge in front of our coaches.
Meza gets it done in OT against Cruz of Iowa to claim 5th.
For sure. Not really a secret. I went to a couple sessions the first time they had it two years ago and it was a joke. It was Iowa and basically no one else even decent. It’s been better each year following. Most weights this year have multiple ranked guys/NCAA qualifiers along with stud freshman like Ferrari, Sinclair, Merrill, etc.
Salazar is in a battle with Merrill from OkSt. 1-1 riding time not a factor. 0:45 left
Wow big TD on the edge of the mat for Merrill to go up 4-1 with 0:17 left on the clock center for a restart. Salazar gets the escape with :06 left but can't get it done.
Okay Peanut is up now against Lanosga from the Navy
Size advantage for sure to navy
Peanut with a text book TD 3-0. Nice trip for a mat return put him right on his face. Peanut now up over 1:00 of RT looks like he is going to ride him out to end the 1st
Peanut up 3-0 after the 1st with 1:24 RT. Navy looking like some sort of injury to his left wrist.
Herrera is on the bottom to start the 2nd. and is out up 4-0.
Second period ends 4-0
Herrera choice in the 3rd he chooses down. Big return for Lanosga and is putting on a ride now. Herrera having a difficult time finding his base. works his way up to his knees stands up gets broken down. back on both feet now and lanosga has to cut him 5-0
Looks like this one is going to end 5-0 and Herrera picks up the win. That was a battle back for 3rd for him.
