I don't like how he seems to treat September like an extension of fall camp, limiting the playbook and going hyper conservative for an already conservative coach. I just don't get it, it loses games that are winnable and as good as he is in conference I think he could be better if the team was playing with a little more juice earlier in the season. I don't think it's a coincidence that he's 2-6 in conference openers. There's also the Iowa game, which just is what it is and I don't want to talk about it.
He can be a stubborn in game coach and he loses, IMO, too many close games for a coach that's been around as long as he has because it takes just that half quarter too long to snap out of it and try something different. It's past the point where we can say the team's almost there and we just need to give it time.
Special teams.
Like I said, it's an overall positive and fun experience but there's stuff that to my non-P5 coach smooth brain seems so easy to improve and our seasons could be even better.
