So he's never left? A Campbell appreciation.

This will be the ninth season under Coach Matt Campbell! In those years so much change, so much good, and NFL players produced! This is a toast to you, sir, all the fine men you have tutored in life on and off the field. We appreciate and admire all you have done and hope for many more years in your journey to greatness at Iowa State!

Matt Campbell, the second-longest tenured active coach in the Big 12 and just the second in school history to coach 100 games, has changed the culture and invigorated the Iowa State football program since taking over as head coach prior to the 2016 season.

Probably becomes all time winingest coach this year.

Getting closer to a possible Big 10 West schedule, who knows how high Matt can go!

Currently, Matt Campbell has the third-longest coaching tenure in Iowa State football history behind Clay Stapleton (10 seasons) and Dan McCarney (12 seasons). If he’s still here when the current recruiting class graduates, he’ll be #1.

First round of hires was less than stellar. Minus Fred (I’ll probably lump Rhoads in here too even though he fizzled out).

But has learned some lessons along the way too. Campbell, Otz and Dresser have been outstanding.

Fred was more successful as a program but yeah I put CPR with him in that both programs needed what those two were bringing after a mess was left.

Football still has its moments but CMC set a bar of consistently winning which isn't something to complain about.

Then why is it optimist that Campbell will be the winningest coach for ISU when he’s 3 games away from tieing it?
Always trying to be optimistic about any and all successes that Cyclone coaches and sports can achieve! Go Cyclones!
