Crazy game, but a GREAT win. Proud of the ladies for fighting through that slow start, and hanging on when Vandy tried to make a game of it at the end.

Back from the game. Man that first half set the game of bball back a few years. If ISU made all their layups and close shots this game wouldn't have been close. For ISU it was the Aus and Heather show. Man I love watching Heather play basketball. Her emotional play comes out and is spreads throughout the team. She had 3 more 3's to bring her career total to 233 and is 55 from breaking Megan Taylor's 3 point mark at ISU. Near the end of this game I had a scary thought. The type of game I saw today is going to be every night in Big 12 play. Way to go STATE!!!!!!!!!!

Medders did well calling the game also. We had to give away our tickets and watch on the internet. Great Win!
One thing bothers me. ISU front court was supposed to be bigger and really be a factorin this game, but the 4 big girls and Bolte had a total of 11 points, and the Sisters got cleaned on the boards.
They just missed alot of lay up. They had great looks, but missed alot of shots. Rebound numbers were weird because, Vandy had so many turnovers, which cut down on the defensive rebounds.
Wieben and Bolte and even Anderson haven't been the same this year. If we can get that post play going we are going to be a great team.
Wieben has been alright, Anderson isn't seeing the minutes she saw last year so obviously on paper her stats are going to go down, and I think Kelsey is a girl built to be a 4 or 5 stuck as a 2 or 3. She's got the basketball smarts to be a darn good post, but at the same time she can be a good guard on the outside.
What impresses me is how intense our defense is. Not really a moniker of ISU WBB, but I saw some tremendous defense yesterday. That goes a long way to winning in the Big 12. I agree that Wieben is still getting back to her game after the injury. She seems to be playing with a little more confidence each game.
Bolte is NOT a 4/5 player. She has played the 2/3 spot her entire life. To put her in the post area would take away the best part of her game. Did not see her play a lot in high school, but the games I saw in Wells Fargo she was about as good off the dribble as any high school player I have ever seen.
