That's the only one I've seen on him as well. Hard to judge from just one tape which appears to have only 2-3 games on it, but he looked to be active on the boards and defensively.

If he can do that as a FR, he will probably contribute some. He definitely has nice size and athleticism, with a frame that looks like it will allow him to develop into a good sized PF.

In our system, points generally have a way of finding big athletic guys. Ejim, Hogue and McKay didn't start off as polished offensive basketball players, but in a fast system like Prohm will use, athletic posts can thrive.

Agree he's more about the future than this season, but has anybody answered the question, something about needing to be cleared by NCAA Clearinghouse?

I thought I read he was fine by the NCAA but couldn't meet SMU's academic requirements.
I'll see if I can find the article and post it.

I really like those back to the rim moves at :40

Yeah, for a HS kid he looks like he has a bit of polish - already has some post moves. Does look athletic. Not a lot on the video, but looks like a great pickup - if we didn't already know that.

THIS Week, THIS late, we manage to sign Simeon Carter and Jhaustin Thomas (who is immediately eligible to help our D-line) along with an Xavier Simpson visit this weekend. For a school that's been kicked in the nuts so many times, a week like this is just too good to be true. It's a very good week to be a Cyclone!

Kind of interesting that in the ISU release Prohm says they talked to Larry Brown about this kid.

Looks to good rebounding instincts, grabbing and keeping it high. Good outlet passer and had decent handles in that video. Looks like he'll fit right in the offense. Hopefully can fill a part of the Hogue roll off the bench till he gets more polished.

Contrary to some popular belief, the newest Iowa State men's basketball commit was cleared academically by the NCAA a long time ago. He was cleared before he committed to Southern Methodist.
It's just that SMU, facing scrutiny by the NCAA for some academic stuff, allegedly has standards above what the NCAA demands. Simeon Carter hadn't done everything to meet those standards when he committed, so they mutually decided to part.

Coaches talk to coaches a lot.. Carter is a good recruit SMU just has higher academic standards than the average school.
