I’ll agree. If this is within 14 points you can’t just say oh it was UNI they played up for this game. If it’s even close there needs to be some serious searching into how they prepare for these games.

Honestly, they should be looking into this regardless of the outcome Saturday. It's a trend at this point. Find a retired coach that was successful with fast starts and pay him to stay in Ames for the month of August. Then at the end of fall camp, ask what should they be doing differently. It wouldn't hurt to get another pair of eyes on it. They might just be too far in the weeds to see some obvious things.

I do think that Campbell stays in Ames partly because fan expectations aren't crazy. If you're in the SEC and preseason ranked 6 and end up 7-6, those fans would be going nuts. At ISU, there's some grumbling, but that's about it.
