SEC who?

To correct this persistent SEC-missing-from-the-CFP Championship bugaboo, the AP 2026 FBS Pre-Season Top 25 will be:
1. Georgia
2. Alabama
3. LSU
4.Texas
5 - 16. The remaining SEC teams in any order
17. Notre Dame
18. George Madison
19. Tulane
20-23. The teams the SEC might be considering during the next expansion
24, Ohio State
25. Florida State

Don't forget too many Big 10 teams. Ohio State will be #1.

don't forget Sankey wanted seven.

Now we know why Mr. Sankey wants 7 teams from the SEC in the playoffs. The 2025/26 bowl season is an abysmal failure against P4 teams and the lack of much success for SEC teams, playing against non SEC teams, in the playoffs is quite concerning. The answer- more teams means we could possibly end up with two SEC teams in the Final.

I am just happy they will actually play 9 conference games next year, guaranteeing another loss for 1/2 the conference.

I have no problem saying the SEC is the best football conference. A couple of years without a Natty is more fluke than a shift.

Three years without even PLAYING for a natty, and consistent losing records when head to head with other P4 conferences.

SEC ain't the best football conference.

I havent looked at the details too closely, but if the one win the SEC had against P4 schools was Alabama beating OU, that makes it even more hilarious.... that would mean they only way they even got one win is because somebody had to win in an SEC vs. SEC matchup.
And Ole Miss over Georgia.

The Big Ten is the best league in the country and I'm not sure it's all that close at this point.

To be fair, if the Alabama win @ Oklahoma and Ole Miss win vs. Georgia are discounted, then then the OU loss to Alabama and the Georgia loss to Ole Miss should be discounted too, as they do off-set each other (2-2). Two teams had to win, and two teams had to lose.

That being said the B1G has definitely been the best conference this year with BOTH the best top teams (Indiana, Oregon and Ohio State) and best middle level teams (Illinois and Iowa). Washington, Minnesota and Northwestern won their Bowl Games TOO - even though they were against two MWC and a MAC team. A win's a win, but those three Bowl wins are not as good as Illinois' and Iowa's Bowl wins.

So, let's crow, crow, crow for the B1G! We should be able to hear it well enough from the 6 B1G schools which surround us.

Let's Go State!

Probably passed out in the rockers at the Charlotte airport waiting on their connection to nowhere slowly!
Don’t knock the rockers! They’re awesome, especially when the CLT community service dogs are there to rock in the chair and scratch behind the ears

Finebaum show has been funny. One caller said the problem with the Rose Bowl was that Alabama didn't have enough film on Indiana and Cignetti to properly prepare. The delusion and excuses are everywhere. Most callers still living in the delusion that the middle tier of the SEC is still way way better than the B1G and therefore SEC is the better conference, the B1G just has 3 great teams. :p You can't make it up. Paul has actually tried making them understand that that's not really true but he's very low energy today. Lol.

Texas over Michigan

The thing is, it's not really the "SEC " that bad playoff success. There were a few outliers but it was basically just Bama and Georgia that were dominant.

It's weird to celebrate this though bc the big ten is more arrogant than the SEC. Them getting hype is probably worse, they are everything that is bad about college sports.

I'm not sure why I can't resent them both equally
