***Scottie Scheffler Arrest Thread***

The main question I have asked was what made Scottie different than everyone else. Why did the officer target him and no one before him? If it was a simple “he tripped” while next to Scottie’s car, that’s the answer! I’ve said many times this cop indeed could be a horrible cop. But there also could had been a legitimate reason witnesses couldn’t see (because it was dark and raining) as to why this officer felt the need to stop Scottie. The facts will always come out in the end. Thats been my point. And I also said I fully expected the felony charges to be dropped with at most simple traffic violations

True - but I have been vocal about this topic with many, many people disagreeing with me. So I just assumed I would be “one of those people” they were referring to

i get there are probably more facts to be presented but this was a unique deal where there were many national reporters that were right there watching all of this unfold. Plenty of witnesses. I have a hard time thinking these guys are lying in their reporting of what went down.

not so sure scottie was "targeted" but clearly the cop didn't get the message to let golfers through. Can't remember who it was, but there was one golfer who did exactly what Scottie did and went right on in, no issue.

Yes - but not a single one could explain "why" the cop tried to stop Scottie. Why did the other golfer do exactly the same thing as Scottie go through without issue, but not Scottie? For all I know at the time, Scottie accidently bumped the cop with his car (or ran over his foot) at a slow speed (not saying he did... but just illustrating the importance of what led the cop to react the way he did). Or maybe the cop recognized Scottie and had a sports bet against him. The why is a very large component to this story which didn't have an answer when people were jumping to their conclusions.

And it was dark, rainy, and sounded like a chaotic scene. Not all witnesses saw the same thing, too

This is about a cop who was directing traffic after a fatal accident. Cop goes on a power trip after he thinks his directions have been ignored. Cop over reacts and escalates the situation and creates more chaos and confusion. Probably shouldn’t be a cop.

You know you'd be acting like a 12 year old girl meeting Taylor Swift if you ever got lucky enough to meet "Scottie" in person. It's called hero worship and I actually think it's funny. He's just a guy who happens to be able to hit a golf ball accurately, that deserves 22 pages?

Who cares if he's a rich golfer? It should bother anyone to see a police officer arrest someone for something completely lawful, bring 4 bogus charges (one of which is a serious felony), lie on a police report and publicly humiliate someone for doing absolutely nothing wrong. I don't care if he's a famous golfer or a guy working at McDonalds, **** like this is a huge part of the problem and probably goes completely unnoticed when you aren't a famous golfer. I mean, do you have any idea how bad the policework has to be to have all 4 charges dropped before he's even arraigned?

But listen, I get you trying to move the goalposts. You were the unfortunate combination of being both very vocal and very wrong. It's no fun to be wrong, so I get the backpedaling here.

I read the police report. What exactly did he lie about on the police report? I haven't seen any evidence that proves either side yet.

There are some pieces to this story that seem to be missing. For instance, I haven't heard anyone talk about the driver of the car. Wouldn't he be the one to be targeted by the police? As I understand it, Scheffler was a passenger. Why did the police go after Scheffler? I suspect that he said something to the officer or the officer took note that he was the one causing the driver to go forward. Still, if I was the cop in that situation, I would have focused on the driver . . . or in this case with the speed of the incident . . . the putterer. ;)
