Does anyone honestly expect to see any changes to the offensive scheme by just promoting a guy from within the program? Manning ran what Campbell wanted.... and so will Nate. I really doubt we'll see much of a difference at all.
But if the OL improves dramatically... I think we can still win with the same scheme as last year. I just don't see where the improvement on the OL is going to come from?

IIRC, ISU led the B12 in Time of Possession this year, so offense staying on the field a lot. Also, averaged 20 (right?) first downs a game, a smidge less than last season?

Offense wasn't a total bust this year (just mostly). Regroup behind new OC and new OL, healthy mix of newcomers (transfers), we'll see what we see. I'm interested, not abandoning ship.

Regroup and restart.

A field goal kicker and an ability to make 1 yard occasionally and we are bowling / due to our defense.

OL coach is the key hire..

I'm assuming they had their guy internally but the rooney rule requires a minority or woman external candidate to be interviewed. I think it applies to not just head coaches but I could be wrong.
They hired a black coach as offensive coordinator so even if it is a rule, I don’t think that was the reason for the interview.

Edit: apparently even if you hire internally, you have to interview externally and one has to be minority for coordinators.

We will have a difficult time keeping NS for the long haul. This "interview" was probably a great experience for him. Gives him a taste of what the NFL (coaching) is all about. I bet Campbell and Sirianni talk during the offseason and Campbell gave NS a glowing review
