Same song by same artists that are different

Bruce Springsteen put out a version of Born in the USA as a 12" single. I think it was produced by Rick Ross. Lots of vocal reverb, huge drums, big production. Really interesting relic. I bought it but don't have it anymore.

The 2nd version of this one wasn't really recorded on an album that I am aware of but he did re-record it with a different feel to it just for the Yellowstone TV series. I tend to like the updated version as it feels a lot more "rustic" than the original.

Not sure if this counts, but growing up KGGO played "And She Was" by the Talking Heads. I really liked the song, and eventually I bought the CD. To me the sound was very different. I guess the version I remember hearing KGGO was the E.T. version. (most noticeable difference starts at 2:31).

E.T. (KGGO) version

This has the potential to be unpopular since it's counter to their primary mission, but Slipknot's Vermilion Pt 2 is so much better than Pt 1. It just works so well slowed and stripped and unplugged. It's a side of the group people wouldn't expect.

Joni Mitchell, Both Sides Now. The original 1969 version vs. the 2000 version. I prefer the 2000 version.

Posted it too.

The 2000 one hits harder now as I think about my parents getting older etc.

It's one of those things where knowing the first version makes the later one really transcendent.

Lol, duh, I completely missed that. Well done.

David Bowie, Fame

1975 Young Americans album version...

Fame 90
was a remix he did for his 1990 Sound+Vision Tour.

Not sure which I liked best? Saw the first version in the '78 Heros tour at The Forum in LA and then the second at Dodger stadium in '90, the Sound+Vision show.
