Shows ISU and OKst at #23 nationally. Not sure if his numbers are reliable quite yet. Says we're favored by 38 over WIU - which would be about right if our offense gets back on track.

If the game starts out like it will be a 38 point decision, I'd expect the coaches to transistion the plays and players to a glorified practice. I'm always leery of large point spreads especially when they involve Iowa State. We may have a sufficient "killer instinct" but I don't think we have a "let's embarrass them" instinct. (I'm torn whether we should)

This high ranking has to be related to the crappy competition the rest of college football is playing right now. I'm still not calling this a ranked team, although I think we'll be knocking on the door if we power through our next three games.

We are number 7 in the ELO CHESS variant which is what the BCS formula uses. Way too early, of course.

Sagarin's numbers aren't at all accurate for a few more games. It takes time to get enough data points for a reliable ranking.

That being said, #7 *******.

Yeah, it's early so these aren't real useful. Plus, computer rankings for college football are getting more and more worthless for comparing across conferences. For example, this year, the SEC and Big 12 go head to head in only 1 game (Texas vs. Ole Miss). There just isn't enough data to make meaningful comparisons.

I am confused on something. If you look at the games the XII have played against lets say, not so competitive of teams, the other XII teams did NOT take mercy and simply shut down their scoring. +50's, +60's against the competition?
Do we .....as a "respectful" team, NOT continue to be competitive and run the score up, just as others have done....and take the accolades along with that. (i.e. they (isu) just manhandled that team, they just ran all over them, they are a way better team than anyone thought), or do we put in our "2's", and let them play...and if they continue to run all over them, enter in the "3's"?
I think not! i say keep on running it in. Take it for all its worth!

Absolutely get the 2's and 3's playing time so when you need them in 2-3 weeks or even next season they will have a better chance of doing their jobs correctly - that is how you build a program imo.

Wow. Two wins and we are ready to name the score? I just hope we can learn how to hold onto the football and get away with a comfortable win where nobody gets hurt.

I'm not sure you realize who we're playing. If this were a lot of other teams i'd agree, but WIU sucks. If we don't put a pounding on them it is cause for concern.

Our team certainly can't completely disregard this game, but as fans, we should expect our team to be ready and if they are, there will be domination.

I'm excited for two things next Saturday: for Steele and company to gain back their confidence, and to see the freshman playmakers that everybody raves about, like DeVondrick Nealy, to play.

I see now that they lost 69-0 last year to Mizzou. Methinks you may have a point.

I don't have a problem with running up the score, but if you're trying to...if you've got the game won...why not give your studs a rest, and screw with anyone looking for patterns in your play calling.

If we find ourselves up by 30 points in the 3rd quarter... I would hope we see a bunch of 2nd stringers come in, but Cyclone football needs to lay the wood to someone just to remember how it feels. I'm talking about a good ol' fashioned 55-3 ballgame. We don't see those often and they need to be fresh in our mind.

I have ISU winning this game 34-10 in my ISU preview. I assume there will be some sort of let down after last week. If 34-10 is a let down, I am going to take it.
I think there is a slight chance ISU is ranked going into the Texas Tech game. ISU wins that game and there will be a matchup of ranked teams between TCU and ISU. By that time we will be close to BCS ranking being released and all the rankings, including Sagarin will be much more reliable.
