A good 10 yd split for NFL OL is 1.7-1.8. Is this proving Brock is fast or Deebo is slow?

95th percentile for QBs says he's insane for his position group.A good 10 yd split for NFL OL is 1.7-1.8. Is this proving Brock is fast or Deebo is slow?
Spencer Petras is taller and can throw the ball farther than Dekkers. That's obviously not what constitutes a good quarterback. Again, Dekkers obviously has talent but we're going to keep being disappointed when we say he has more potential than Brock. He needs to get exponentially better across the board to be even in the same realm. Brock's elusiveness is a huge part of what defines his game. He's quick enough to outrun most NFL DE's for long enough to salvage plays that other QB's cannot. I'm not sure Dekkers could juke out a refrigerator, it's just not part of his game. That's not to say he can't realize his potential. Brock was just really ******* good and some of us still can't process that.Purdy ran a 4.84 40. Manning ran a 4.88. Quick is not an adjective I would use to describe either QB. Dekkers ran a 4.7. He is faster, can throw farther, is taller, and lighter. Am i missing something?
Nobody said he has more potential than Brock, he just has better intangibles. Yes, as Petras shows, just because you have a strong arm doesnt make you good. My original point was that if he can mature exponentially between the ears, as fans, we should be able to enjoy some of the same success we had with Brock as a QB. It helped Brocks success that he had an offense full of future NFL players during most of if not all of his tenureSpencer Petras is taller and can throw the ball farther than Dekkers. NO IDEA if that last part is true or not but some interesting comments have come out of spring ball.Hopefully improvements to the OL and a healthy RB will do wonders for Dekkers.
I am concerned that mid-way through last season, there were rumblings that the staff wasn't sure Dekkers was the answer at QB. I think he will be fine if we can give him some help, though.

During his redshirt year there were people on here saying deckers would be starting if Campbell wasn't loyal to Brock.Nobody said he has more potential than Brock, he just has better intangibles. oh he was a good player, certainly better than me. He was very skilled, good hand eye coordination, but he wasn't hard stay with in the half court. I was actually quicker than him even though he could blow me out of the water in the 200 and 400, which were the events he was good at.Be honest, how many points did he put up?
I would agree with that. We weren't all that far from enjoying some of that same success last year. Thankfully Scott Frost isn't our coach so I think we can figure it out and Hunter has a good season.Nobody said he has more potential than Brock, he just has better intangibles. I hate to disagree, but go back and look at the conversation (post 219 and then yours at 263.) The conversation was on physical tools. If you are trying to say Dekkers has better intangibles than Purdy, then I think you lost me. Or maybe your post was just confusing?Nobody said he has more potential than Brock, he just has better intangibles. Yes, as Petras shows, just because you have a strong arm doesnt make you good. Nice article in the daily about Clanton’s approach.

The change has started up front, where the offensive line has transformed physically in a matter of months. Miller has added 25 pounds, and Clanton said the tackle is “moving like a deer.”
Excited to see how the o-line performs this fall. Especially the emergence of young guys to be the next man in. Feel like Remsburg, Simmons and Hufford are known quantities that will benefit from Clanton's coaching. But what about guys like Miller, Bonifas, Maro, Neal, Okin, etc?Nice article in the daily about Clanton’s approach.

AGAINI hate that I'm falling for the hype
I read this and wondered if Matt Nagy left the chiefs to come work with ISU lol. Kagy* is who you meant - but I’d also be fine if Nagy was on our staff!Excited to see how the o-line performs this fall. Especially the emergence of young guys to be the next man in. The article mentions Nagy's impact on o-line improvement. One thing I haven't read about is Nagy's impact on the d-line. I have to believe if the narrative about the o-line not being elite from a S&C standpoint is accurate. That would also apply to the d-line.
Figured you would be the one breaking that news considering your link to insider info with the Chiefs...I read this and wondered if Matt Nagy left the chiefs to come work with ISU lol. Kagy* is who you meant - but I’d also be fine if Nagy was on our staff!
I'm ready to get hurt againI hate that I'm falling for the hype
