It's true. Her uncle is Steve Krafcisin who played for the Hawkeyes and was an assistant coach at ISU. He was Ashley's coach at DMACC.

5'9" guard. First team Region XI. 12.2 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 3.6 steals per game, 2.3 apg. Sounds like a shooting guard. She averaged over 6 steals per game her senior year of high school.

She made 66 of 210 behind the arc last season, so she's not shy when it comes to putting them up.

doesn't Joc coach there too?

expected a Juco recruit. guessing maybe a good defender too with her steals - 3.6 average a game is pretty high.

I approve!

DMACC Women's Basketball Player Ashley Hagedorn Named to All-Region Team

12 ppg
2.3 apg
2.5 TO
31% 3pt
34% FG
3.5 spg

Going to have to trust in Bill on this one. Those are not very good stats.

They are juco stats -- you have to take those with a grain of salt.

Loz's stats from two years ago at Midland College:

11.6 ppg
3.4 apg (and she was the point guard unlike Hagedorn)
2.4 TO
35.6% 3pt
39.8% FG (42.3% inside the arc compared to 36.0% for Hagedorn)
1.5 spg

Somewhat better overall, but not eye-popping.

Consider that Hagedorn is not expected (and doesn't need to) make the same impact Loz did. She's basically taking Harris's place.

To evaluate her record, we have to know something about the competition she was playing against. I have no idea, for example, how good Loz's competition was in west Texas juco vs. this girl playing juco in Iowa. But if she can play good defense and can handle the ball without too many turnovers, I would be happy.

Not to be too negative.... I would say that Loz was a recruiting miss as well. She wasn't a BAD player at all but not really for a top tier Big 12 team.

Went to I-K with her mom. She was a couple years younger than me but man could she bring it as a softball pitcher. I can see where Ashley gets the ability.

That's true - but I think Lauren was a stopgap after a big defection of 1 and 2's in the prior classes. She lived up to my expectations, that and more. She was not big, fast or quick. But, she was one of the crafty players we had and a very high bb IQ.

Lauren was fourth in scoring (which is good and bad) and she had some other notables like a good 3p percentage. I'll miss her thoroughly. Not to worry as Nikki is going to be great and the the ladies coming in are much anticipated.
