Wife feeling frisky, huh?Since we are empty nesters, we went to a brewery and a bar with neighbors. We were still home at about 10:45. Fireworks at midnight woke me up.
Before Christmas the wife said she was going to get some stamps………

12 full rolls = 1200 stampsBased on what we paid per roll...that looks like about $1000 sitting there.![]()
You should see our spice shelf. Like 7 poppy seeds and such. Our “storage room” in our basement has racking all over and we could have more. We have multiples of multiples.12 full rolls = 1200 stamps
8 "books" = 160 stamps
1200 + 160 = 1360
1360 x $.78 (price of a stamp now) = $1,060.80
That's obviously not counting the open roll, the partial books, and the $.02 stamps..(WTF with the $.02 stamps?)
Has your house ever been profiled on Hoarders? You should see our spice shelf. Like 7 poppy seeds and such. Our “storage room” in our basement has racking all over and we could have more. We have multiples of multiples.
It’s not like that. My wife is a clean freak and cleans non stop. If you leave a blanket unfolded in a recliner or couch overnight, she’s not happy. So it’s organized. I can get her in a pitching mood every so many years and get rid of some stuff. Although I just found out she is sticking stuff in the closets of our kids once they move out.Has your house ever been profiled on Hoarders?
Years ago when we were moving my stepdad's dad out of the house after his wife died we found food everywhere. There were boxes slid under every bed full of food, cans in every cabinet and closet. In their case I get it a bit. When you live through the Depression that worry of food insecurity sticks with you. It’s not like that. My wife is a clean freak and cleans non stop. Hoarders, sounds more like Doomsday Preppers.Has your house ever been profiled on Hoarders?
We're hoping to do Red Rocks for a show this summer. We did stop there during the day once a few years ago.I got to check two things off my bucket list by going to Red Rocks Amphitheater and watching the Black Keys. That's easily my highlight for the year.
Of course... maybe... probably not... unfortunately no.Wife feeling frisky, huh?
One of my favorite traditions. Right up there with watching my wife's cousin drink too much wine at Thanksgiving and falling asleep before 11 on NYE.Is this thread closed yet?
It's incredible. For me, music almost elevates to a spiritual level in some ways, and that connects with the awesome natural surroundings of that venue. Half of my night was just spent looking around, thrilled to be there. We're hoping to do Red Rocks for a show this summer. We did stop there during the day once a few years ago.
Here's a couple of TP stories...one, many of you already know. I was trying to find TP locally and online with no success during Covid, and I was whining about it in that particular RTT thread. I was down to my last roll and @Cyclones_R_GR8 happened to see a full case in a Lowe's or Home Depot or something in Omaha and bought it for me. Lew & I met him halfway in Greenfield, and had lunch together at Freedom Rock - sack lunches, him at one end of a picnic table and us at the other. First time we met that generous man.Years ago when we were moving my stepdad's dad out of the house after his wife died we found food everywhere. There were boxes slid under every bed full of food, cans in every cabinet and closet. In their case I get it a bit. When you live through the Depression that worry of food insecurity sticks with you.
Mrs. Velo has a little bit of that tendency. When she gets almost down to one case (what is that, 8 packs of 6 rolls each?) of toilet paper, she buys another one. I had to stop giving her quite so much crap (pun intended) about it when COVID rolled around and they couldn't keep TP stocked on the shelves. But if the zombie apocalypse comes we will be outfitted for TP and some food supplies for a couple of months at least. But what actually will probably happen is we will get killed by raiders who stockpiled guns instead.
I hoard a bit too, but for me it is, "I can't throw this scrap lumber or used fixture away; about the time I do, I will need it for something." Invariably as soon as I do a mass cleaning and shitcan a bunch of stuff I need something I just pitched. Why does that always happen?
We did just do a pretty big cleanup of a basement store room, our garage, shed, and our garage attic so we made progress.
Cousin female? One of my favorite traditions. Right up there with watching my wife's cousin drink too much wine at Thanksgiving and falling asleep before 11 on NYE.
Looking for new glasses today. Wife has ruled these out, but I might surprise her
