I don’t think Jaz is a “physical presence”. He’s a shooter.

Well ok. Maybe not 'physical' as in strength but thought I read works hard/competitive, so with size I would think that could help with rebounding. But what do I know?

Deonte Burton had 6.4 pts and 1.4 rpg at Marquette before coming here. Stats aren't everything. Burton was a high ranked recruit tho.
His rivals profile show offers from Penn State and Xavier. With little knowledge on his HS recruitment, seems odd to end up at Denver.

Let's say Foster or Conditt got into foul trouble next season. We have no other big in the program. This is much needed depth and competition.

Big guys get hurt more often then guards. We'd have no reserve if we had an injury in the post
Not to mention Foster is a big man with a foot injury history. I hope he never is injured again but that's definitely concerning

With so many guys in the portal and more being added every day, I just absolutely don't get this move. Jaz has all the underlying analytics saying he can be a contributor at the P6 level and really came on strong late so while he may not be the flashiest name, there's reason to believe he can be a part of a winning team. But unless this like directly gets us one of his high school teammates, I can't say I get taking a player like this so quickly when there are so many moving parts this spring specifically.

I have no issue with TJ & Staff jumping on big guys early. The elite bigs will be heavily recruited by top 20 teams. Both guys look like they fill a need- Jones looks like a traditional 5 and can be a solid post defender/rebounder. Jaz looks like a prototypical stretch 4 who can rebound and hit 3's. I would still like to get a physical post like the kid from Indian Hills. The reality is both these new recruits might be better than Foster and Conditt.

Seems like there is always a lot more high scoring guards/wings in the portal- so that is where I would expect TJ to staff to bring in some instant impact guys.

I don’t think either of those guys are as good as Foster..

Not the sexy signing. Not a starter. But it’s not a bad addition either. High character guy, hard worker. Defiantly a culture signing. The type of practice body for Foster and Conditt to work against. Someone teammates can learn from in the gym who puts in the extra work. We still have scholarships to get some better guys, but if Foster or Conditt get hurt we will be glad to have him.

Who knows, he could learn some things from Green and be a pleasant surprise even if he never starts a game.

I would tend to agree, based on Foster's limited play I think he is the real deal But Foster had surgery on a foot injury that goes back to his HS days. Plus there are a lot of 4 & 5 star kids that don't pan out in college. So I see both Jones and Kunc as strong competition for Conditt and Foster.

Honestly I hope they are. We’ve desperately needed competition at the 4/5 position.
