It’s always blown my mind not only did he never win an acting Oscar but he was only nominated ONCE for The Sting.
And speaking of The Sting, that movie is one of the best purely entertaining movies ever made. It’s just damn well made and acted.
Jeremiah Johnson is probably my favorite movie of all time, but man, he had so many great ones.
Also loved him as the narrator (and director) in "A River runs Through It".

No offense, and not saying he wasn't in some good movies, but I'm not sure he was such a great actor. You never really forgot he was Robert Redford.
Compare with Brad Pitt, another very good-looking person who has more of a range...think Joe Black, Aldo Raine and Tyler Durden.
Sneakers is probably my favorite movie he was in. Such an amazing career.
So many great roles.
Did win a best director award I believe.
He was nominated for Quiz Show did not win. But a great film
All The Presidents Men is must see, and incredible cast, Redford plays Bob Woodward.

Ageeed. The Sting is one of my comfort movies. I can watch it anywhere, any time.
My mother is gutted. She had a huge crush on him.
