RIP Coach Jim Walden

My condolences to Lisa,Emily and Murray. Jim Walden and his wife Janis were outstanding people. I work at O’Malley and McGee’s the whole time he was coach and they came in often. They were generous and kind people. Good times with them and the rest of the coaching staff.

I vaguely recall that score and the underlying collapse. I couldn't have guessed the exact year.

I don't think I knew the Neuheisel-coin thing.

I have no doubt that ISU fans could do that when those Buff players were taunting. Colorado players at the time had the ego of OU and Nebraska with the skill of K State.

That being said I wouldn't take NewWeasel's word on anything. That guy was so slimy.

I dont think any one thing was to blame there was enough blame to go around.

Criner dug the hole.
University/President pushed us into the hole.
Walden covered us with dirt.

That's not giving enough blame to Gordon P. Eaton.

We had a somewhat similar meltdown vs. No. 9 CU in 95 in McCarney's first year. We led 28-27 going into the 4th quarter and ended up losing 50-28. CU went for two on their last TD because margin of victory was important for the polls. The CU bench started taunting our fans and I think Neuheisel said he was hit with coins.

I do believe I was at this game and tragically failed the six points of being a "respectful Cyclone".
