It's tough not to notice, no doubt haha. But ya just gotta be better.
Players like that are so polarizing, though, that it is hard not to exclaim or get excited when you see them in action.
I played at a Chicagoland HS and we had a player in our conference who was just dominant, ended up winning Mr. IL Basketball, going D1 and winning a National Championship (Beat ISU on the way to it, still pisses me off he haunted me in my college fandom also) but I would have my friends and other kids in the school tell me how excited they were to see him play that night. He was amazing, and I don't blame em. Our gyms were packed every time we played him and there was a certain air around the game. I loved it, but then again we weren't getting stomped in the playoffs and my student section wasn't openly chanting his name haha.
Point being, it is hard to not get excited when you see a player like Talen live. Especially when, I'm sure, all the CPS's are seeing all of the local/national twitter he gets every week.
