Recruits stats and Senior performance

I am sure it is an option for George to RS. He and his Dad are on record that he had the late growth spurt and needs to add strength/weight.
That said, before we declare in February that a red shirt is the plan. The decision can wait till he gets on campus and performs with the team leading up to the season. A player with his length and body control could surprise and help a team, especially if injuries hit. For instance If he was on this years team he'd be playing for better or worse.

Pretty sure it was already posted on here by someone that George and his Dad are on record saying that he will not redshirt. Don't think I dreamt that. Unless that was his h.s. coach I'm thinking of.

I hadn't seen that, but it makes sense. Get him in a college weight program as long as possible, start the work in the off season and get him as ready to contribute from day one as possible.

"2018 @CycloneMBB signee, George Conditt reported to me earlier he will enroll to ISU once his national play with PR U18 team is over."

Not sure when that is, exactly... probably late summer?

Could be, but that would be later than most freshmen. I think guys enrolling “early” here for the first summer session in late May.

ISU Listed by Rivals as one of the 7 programs "poised for a comeback" next year.
(I realize this isn't just about the incoming seniors but didn't think it needed it's own thread.)

1. Iowa State
Playing in one of the deepest conferences in recent memory, it has not been an easy run for Steve Prohm and his Iowa State gang this winter. The only Big 12 program to not have a realistic chance at a tournament bid, Cyclones’ fans need to be excited for a major bounce back next year.

They will lose Donovan Jackson, Jeff Beverly and Hans Brase to graduation, but what they have coming in is an infusion of talent, versatility and reason for optimism. Talen Horton-Tucker is the stud of the class, someone that should immediately contribute, thanks to his multidimensional skillset. George Conditt, Zion Griffin and Tyrese Haliburton should enhance the Cyclones' chances and so should a full year of seasoning with current breakout guard Lindell Wigginton.

Iowa State has seen the emergence of Cam Lard in the post while former Virginia standout Marial Shayok and ex-Nebraska big Michael Jacobson sit out this winter due to transfer restrictions. Toss in the improved playmaking abilities of Nick Weiler-Babb and the Cyclones are a major dark horse brimming with potential and a chance for a major run next year.

Correct. I think we’ll add at least a combo before we lose Wigginton though.

But if not, we’d have the roster to be an effective zone defense team.

Or to switch about everything rather than play zone. That's the dream nowadays. Haliburton, THT, Griffin, all look like they have that potential defensive ability.

Nice. I assume he's trying to get back into the coaching world?

Haliburton's stats from Friday night:

28 pts (8-10 overall, 6-8 from 3), 3 rebounds, 9 asts, 3 blks, 1 stl

Looks like Haliburton's team won their conference title outright and secured the #1 seed for their sectional this year. I have gathered they will be one of the favorites to win state in Wisconsin this year.

6/8 from trey? That's way different than most of his games this year... o.o

Yeah, he must have great shot selection because he's consistently very efficient from the field. I still would caution people that I don't see him being a big scorer in college. I think he can be a nice facilitator and really thrive in transition with his length and passing ability. If you don't stop him though, he's a capable finisher around (and above) the rim.

At his height, he probably has a pretty easy time at getting his shot off relatively uncontested at the high school level (much as Terrence Lewis probably did).
