Recruit Lists v2.0

He's at the College of Southern Idaho now, which I completely guessed from seeing his profile pic on his twitter account:

Everything on Google said that he was committed to Seattle University, which plays its home games about three blocks from my home. I wonder what happened there, and how he went from a bottom-tier WAC school, to a Juco in Idaho, to being offered by ISU, in such a short time frame. I think there's a decent hint on why the staff likes him in that picture, though.

(Also on the roster at College of Southern Idaho is Ray Kasongo, he of the weirdest recruitment story I've heard in quite a while. Kasongo took visits to Oregon, Kansas, Indiana, LSU, and Michigan State, got denied admission at all of them, and then enrolled at CSI. He was put on a plane to Idaho, where his bags landed, but he decided mid-trip to go somewhere else. I still don't know if he ever made it there.)

Whoa, I'm guessing 2015 with 3 years left?

Based on the ISU roster and scholarship situations, I'm hoping he's a 2016 recruit. All depends on if he had to go JUCO or chose to. On that note, I'm curious what % of JUCO players are eligible after 1 year; I'm guessing its low.

The timing of this makes sense. When coach has now seen all of the new guys play with big 12 talent. Offering someone like this usually means that the coaches said oh crap. Next year we need a guy to cover this spot. Just my opinion.

He's a class of 2016, so the coaches aren't saying "oh crap". They're saying "we lose BDJ this year and Naz after next year so we have to keep recruiting"

Psst... This is the basketball forum- Fred's in charge here, no pessimism allowed.

Wait, what? This is the last thing Fred would do with next years team. It's not needed. And since he's a 16' recruit, it doesn't make sense either.

Thanks for the good read. That is a really weird situation. Kasongo looks like he has a ton of potential, but it appears he qualifies but cannot get in anywhere. I watched a youtube video of him and it is pretty funny as it appears this is small high school ball where he just abuses smaller players. Looks like KU, Oregan, MSU, Indiana, and everyone else with an open scholarship tried to get him.

Guys that skinny can be:

1. Still growing
2. Late bloomers

Kind of like Wesley Johnson was.

Its crazy that we are not overly excited for a kid like this. 5 years ago we would have killed for potential like this. Not saying i dont want the kid but players like monk diallo and bridges are looking at us and naturally we dont get that excited for kids like this. Speaks wonders of where our program is and how far its come. Just my opinion

This has to be a back up plan. Fred is going all out on the other players in the 2016 class. We won't get all of them so there has to be a plan b

Or the kid is a late developing gem and the coaches really like him. The fact is none of us know what Fred is thinking

It speaks volumes, not wonders.
