To me, Johnson or Abu would fill the biggest need on the team. Next would be Cunningham, Colson, Vaughn, then Terrell, macura or any other profile SG since we are deepest at that position. I only put Vaughn up a spot because he is a game changing recruit, otherwise to me PF and SF are the most important need right now.

I am feeling good that we will land at least 2 of these guys: Abu, Terrell, Cunningham, Macura, Colson, Johnson or Vaughn

If Hoiberg lands two top 100 players every year with one of them being a top 20-30 caliber every couple of years we will become a top level program because we'll always fill in with a transfer or two like Nader and Kane that can balance out the classes and fill needs.

Our reputation for taking transfers will continue to help us land some good ones in the future.

All if the transfer bashers from 3 years ago will come to realize that that tactic may have very well "made" our program a decade from now.

Sure PF is the biggest need for next year but Vaughn is a special case. He would be the biggest recruit to ever come to Iowa State. I'm sure Fred would take Vaughn before any other recruit that he's going after for 2014, regardless that he's a SG.

Fair enough. He would also be versatile enough to play 2-4.

I think Fred would MAKE ROOM for Vaughn if he wanted to commit later. But if we are stuck waiting until poss. next April before Vaughn makes his decision, I think you take the best available and sign them in November.

Agree. I don't see any way we can 'wait' on Vaughn. Would take Abu, Johnson, Colson, etc. w/o hesitation.

Man, I wish I had your optimism. So many teams on these guys lists, so few top 100's to go around once the big dogs get their picks. Hope your vision comes alive. Go Fred!

Of course, that's a given. I was just saying that Vaughn is probably the #1 priority for him, regardless of his position.

Coolaid must be the fareway brand? Less taste but more bang for buck?? Just messing lol

I'm wondering if freddy waits on vaughns decision. If he signs, then great! If not he gets after some transfers

Somehow I've caught myself actually posting about this...what am I doing? Every bb guru out there has UNC, UK, or Minn getting him...not even mentioning us anymore, really. Which is really what I believe, too. Don't think we'll have to worry about if there is 'room' for him or not.

I don't think there's any chance that Fred wouldn't accept commitments from Abu, Johnson, Cunningham, Colson, Terrell and a couple of others regardless of where we're at with Vaughn.

And if RV were to commit and we're full, room will be made somehow.

Obviously if we're recruiting over a player or two, they may want to initiate a transfer anyway so Fred wouldn't have to send someone packing

Kentucky has made Vaughn a 'priority' now as the shooting guard they need. Vaughn has made it clear he plans on one-and-done, and Calipari is the king of kings for that gig. Many rumors that Kentucky is his leader.
