Class is ranked that close together...there's no point arguing about it. How are the team needs met and how will these players develop? Time will tell

I did the 247class projection today and it put them in at around 19 or 20. Keep in mind there are still a lot of names on the board, they have no more scholarships and we have three.
W/long we are still behind them. What other names for 2016 do think we have a shot at?

I don't think we're going to get two transfers considering they'd have to be midyear or grad transfers. I'm guessing we get a big in the spring
They don't have to be mid year or grad... I can easily see us snagging a sit out transfer ala Nader, Cooke, Babb after this year, along with a grad transfer big....ideally we snag one more freshman in spring to go along with Long ( with a little luck... You have to think we have one more scholarship after the season ( either from Monte or a transfer leaving)...

I would rather take the best available players regardless.

Some of our needs will depend on Morris's decision and the development of current guys like Carter, Ernst, Burton, Cooke, Thomas and Babb.

I would see us trying to grab one grad transfer and one that can sit.

I was thinking 2016 eligible players. I agree with everything you said

Rankings are kind of wacky when it involves juco kids. Just give it the eye test, comparing how talented, and how coveted each recruit was, and its pretty easy to see that Jackson+Horne+Malou+whoever >> Cook+Pemsl+Kreiner+Bohannon
Horne?

How come so many people are expecting a couple of transfers? Hoiberg is gone so the "Transfer U" name is gone as well. Is Prohm known for chasing after transfers as hard as Hoiberg did?

I believe at one point Prohm said he will be looking to add a mid year this year

Amount of transfers has increased every year the last 4-5 years, and we should be a more attractive destination for PT in 2016 and 2017 than we were this past off season... I think an immediate eligible big and a sit out transfer would be somewhat realistic...

Yes, Prohm has landed transfers. I think two starters on his team last year were transfers. Plus now everyone recruits transfers so it's a given.

Another nice thing about transfers is that it will give you less time to insult their appearance than HS recruits

He said he would like to keep an open scholarship in case one arises...that is not something you can count on, but we have gotten lucky the last couple years with that scenario.....But we have 2 at this point ( one if we do end up giving Ashton a scholarship per some rumors....not sure how real those are).

And looking at Murray State's roster this year there are 4 transfers. Ones from Texas, Utah, Tulane & Chattanooga.

Also TJ landed Babb, Christopherson and Clyburn so he's not opposed to it.

TJ has recruited a lot of kids over the last couple of years. There's always a possibility that one of them will want to transfer here.

**Make that both Babbs

Good lord, you're a jagoff. I was just saying from his one picture he looked a lot older than a high schooler. Am I saying I don't want Long on the team? Not at all. He looks like he can ball and he's our best option at this point that's interested in us (maybe Greek 2.0, but nobody has a darn idea about him). Get over it. We cheer for the same team. You're pretty negative about a lot of things but I don't go around constantly bringing it up.

Back to the transfer question: it's easy to say you plan on getting transfers but whether or not Prohm can actually land Big 12 level transfers remains to be seen. I still think there is a kid or two of high calibur play that ISU will be in the mix for that's a HS senior now outside of Long, so I don't understand why so many people want us to just stop chasing after HS recruits and bank it for transfers that may or may not be there at the middle of the season. People wanted to transfer to ISU because of Fred and that's why we landed guys like Kane, McKat, Burton, Anderson, White, Babb (x2), that Southern Illinois transfer thay never really panned out after high school, and BDJ. Besides, if the transfer market looks weak or there are no Big 12 ready players out there then it does no good.

Prohm has gone on record that an ideal freshman class is no more than 3-4 players, so that leaves transfers/jucos to fill in the rest....and Iowa State has a name now due to Fred and plays in the most competitive conference with every game played within on an ESPN network ( not to mention we will be a top 10 team with lots of press this season). ... I think you are selling Prohm and the university short in thinking guys won't want to come here now...
