Didn't you hear......he's the "magic man". You never flag the "magic man". And this is done during every touchdown in every game.

iirc, they changed the rules around this a few years back (maybe 2010 or 2011?) -- however I think you could make the argument that in the Iowa State instance, it was a pretty weak call and flag shouldn't have been thrown

I don’t know why I got like 30 dumb votes. I was agreeing it was a terrible call, I was simply asking why the guy in the thread was arguing with us that agree it was a stupid call. WTF.
That call was one of two thing, either the Big 12 saying we need to protect one of our unbeaten teams, or a ref that is calling the play to the letter of the rule book. His high stepping was not showboating, and did not show up OSU. So then why make the call?
X didn't turn around and show up the opponent, just a horrible call. Hopefully the ref will get called on it, and reminded that its OK for the kids to show emotion while playing the game, as long as they are not taunting the other team.

It's asinine a D end can run 10 yards up the field after a sack flailing all around and yet a ball carrier can't take a few flashy steps.

I’ve seen it a million times as a Cyclone- we will always have to overcome poor officiating to win tight games. Iowa State does not get the benefit of the doubt and we have to plan on winning decisively. If the refs have discretion, you can bet it won’t go our way. We all remember the non-fumble that Jeremiah George got against Texas, the non pass interference in Manhattan in 2019…it goes on and on.
When we play Texas in two weeks, we need to take those losers to the woodshed and completely take it out of the refs’ whistles.
