Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

This team has gotta be going to the new PAC

That's Melissa,Texas. Just north of the MetroPlex on HWY 75. 15-20 years ago it was a fairly small school. That's pretty standard for big suburb schools. Melissa is just now getting into the game since they've been growing rapidly.

NGL there are probably FCS schools and maybe even some G5 FBS schools that are jealous of the facilities that some Texas HSs have. One of the things that movies like Friday Night Lights have right is football is a religion down there, and it shows in the exorbitant spending on it.

Is that built w donations or tax money?
Most likely a bond issue that the people of the district voted on and passed. People may not like that schools build such castles to sports, but everyone gets a say when they vote.

Money used to build this stadium just like others, was not taken from the general budget of the school instead of using it for education purposes.

What's funny, is there's nowhere else to go. Or will they be the ones to push unequal revenue sharing? Whatever they do, I'm just glad it's no longer in the B12. I feel badly for OK. I'm guessing they get relegated quicker than TX.
Texas will never be happy until they are the only member of the Lone Star Conference.

Just for a little perspective, Melissa HS has an enrollment of less than 1,500 for grades 9-12. It's ranked as the #829 HS in Texas (out of 2,021) and the #192 HS in the Dallas metro (out of 382) by US News based on test scores, grad rates, and college prep.

I would have thought it had a much higher enrollment.

$400 million dollar bond issue passed by the voters in the district to build new schools and stadium. Just another wealthy town around the DFW Metroplex.

This is like the final ember of a once huge fire burning out. Wow. It's been a year or so, but I'm still amazed.
