PAC-9 is getting 1 spot, every single year, in a 12 team playoff. Maybe.
an 18-team B1G is probably getting 4....3 minimum.
The only way anyone gets out of the ACC in the next 10 years is if they find a way to legally invalidate the GOR and media deal, but that seems highly, highly unlikely. I can't see the courts agreeing with a novel legal theory that lets a school out of this contract and GOR, but also doesn't unleash chaos across the sports and entertainment industries. For that reason, it's unlikely ESPN would accept the decision without an appeal, repeatedly if necessary.
So if ESPN doesn't want to pay way more for the same thing, and the ACC schools that aren't going to the B10 or SEC don't want to sell back the media rights, it's not going to happen anytime soon. Probably before 2035, but not before 2031.
This Crow stuff is so silly. You can't possibly want to risk being the guy that didn't hop on the life raft and went down with the sinking ship just to prove a point. At this point, rescind your offer. Tell Arizona to figure out a way to come on their own or they aren't out. Screw ASU.

And that is just for 2 years. After that everything is up in the air how they qualify teams for the playoff, it will be reworked and revoted after the 2 years.
No. Next week Stewart will say that the playoff will only have SEC and Big 10 since they are the best conference.

You keep forgetting Crow will become the Stanford president in a few weeks. He’s not thinking about what’s in the best interest of AZ or even ASU - he’s thinking about what’s best for Stanford. Which is why he’s a conflict of interest.
You have to laugh at this thinking. So they are going to forego the security of being in the B1G and eventually being on equal footing financially to have a better chance of getting their ass handed to them in CFP once a year. Meanwhile they would fall behind financially and get zero exposure when they aren't in the CFP. Makes no sense.
The big 12 is in a better position than the PAC though.
If they did join the big 12, the big 12 isn't likely to cave on such demands.
I heard Robbins is the one who is likely going to Stanford, not Crow.
and Oregon will be able recruit the athletes to compete in the Big 10 just fine. They will win enough to make a 12 team playoff and now and then.
If you ask their fans he hasn't acted in the interest of ASU sports in 20 years. So i'm not sure the stanford part is really a change for him
