I don't recall this famous report, but **** USC anyway

A famous report said Southern Cal had no interest in being in a league with Iowa State. Of course, now USC is about to be in a league with Iowa, so what goes around comes around

this article is a BS narrative. the PAC didnt 'spare' the big 12. they told us to get ******.

IF Oregon comes to the Big 12 Oregon considers themselves better than any team currently in the Big 12, but in the last 10 years are 1-3 against teams currently in the Big 12, including the newbies. Beat Texas, Lost to TCU, Iowa State and Oklahoma.

Oregon will be a mini-Texa$ as they are undoubtably a top brand with deep pockets, but have limited success despite those resources. They will be projected toward the top every year (and probably should be) but will come up short most years.
Well as we saw when we played Oregon in the Fiesta bowl, if you punch them in the mouth they fold like a cheap tent.

That guy must not read SI. Because according to this, we are the 2nd most desirable in the new B12, (just barely behind OSU). Kansas is 2nd from last in all P5.

Again this is subjective, and really depends on whos looking, but ISU is much more desirable than some not so informed fans think.

Our numbers overall and fan support really help us.

Best part is, if Iowa ends up beating USC in a conference game, odds are the TV geniuses will have the I-State logo instead of the Hawkeye.

Fox, CBS, and NBC for one.
If ORWA join Big10, I am sure TV partners would get first opportunity to up their investment for additional game inventory.

But if they don't want to pay, then bringing in another partner like Amazon is the Big10's call. But for big $, it might have to be a unique time slot like Fri primetime or late Sat night.

Did you read the whole thing? Because that's exactly what he wrote.

"Pac-12 arrogance ended the discussion. The decision to spare the Big 12 was not humanitarian-based. This wasn’t Androcles or Tom Hanks. This was a superiority complex. The West Coast schools didn’t want to be associated with the Heartland. Not academically, not culturally. "

Huh? I've lived here in Rochester for the past 8 years and go to almost all the home Iowa State football games...the climate is about 5 or 8 degrees different on average if I had to guess.
I may have my months wrong. It was late Sept. then. It seemed about 10-15 d cooler. But disclaimer: the house/appt I was renting was owned by a guy who was a bit of a tightwad and he also lived in the house. He had the thermostats set at about 56 degrees that first winter there in Rochester. A few months of that and we moved out, found a warmer appt.!

Normally you are right about the temp difference. The other factors, the landlord, and the passage of time, may have inflated my opinion. The two winters I was in Rochester though were brutal, quite a bit colder than Iowa. Could have been a cold couple of years.

And good for you for making that trip regularly. If I remember, that trip was nearly 3 hours! Back then I think the speed limit was only 55 though!

That's what I was thinking, FOX/CBS/NBC chip in some added $$ for added inventory but obviously nowhere near enough to put UO/UW at a full share, but then a streamer comes in with a little bit more.

Very interestingly, it was the 2nd most popular summer sport next to baseball when I was a kid. And that was during the Jurassic era.

We take Arizona, you take ORWA and let’s take the PAC12 out back and give ‘em the Ol Yeller treatment.

No. I stopped reading when he compared the big 12 to a nazi set free, who then returned later to shoot their American liberator.

Are you sure that the B10 contract allows for another media partner? It has been reported that the B12 has that option, when adding teams and if Fox declines a Pro Rata. But I havent heard that the B10 has that option. At least not since CBS and NBC joined the deal.
