people that say/claim we should not take uconn as an all sports member forget 3 things:
1. big 12 needs Northeast eyeballs
2. Yormark has dealt ace after ace, if he thinks Uconn is additive, he's the one who knows. he got the new big 12 members over 31 million a year when all the media people were saying we'd get american/m west money. This guy knows his **** and we need to trust him.
3. no one is taking a pay cut. ESPN will pay for Uconn bc ESPN is in conn and is tight with uconn. Uconn wont happen all sports unless espn pays us for uconn just like uconn is a power 5 team.

4. colo cant come alone. What if colo is the only pac team coming? you cant have 15 teams. who else is better than uconn?

Since the Greenbrier is in my backyard, the local coverage is probably better than someone thousands of miles away. To add clarity, BY doesn't have the 'full' support of the ADs, but more accurately a few which have yet to be brought on board to the whole basketball clout. Again, as pointed out, there are more advertising slots in bball over football by a large margin. Simple logic says there's a lot of room to grow those $$$$ instead of trying to outcompete the football conglomerates.
If the Greenbrier is in your backyard, you are making bank! It's beautiful out there. Even with the sulfur smell.

Totally agree with #2 and #3.

#1 is not that true, at least for football. If basketball is undervalued as Yormark suggests then you do want the NE.

#4 is fine. A 15 team conference works fine if you have an 8 game conference schedule.

This. ESPN is the big dog and ESPN loves UCONN. Would be a fine addition. They are additive.

Colorado board of regents has scheduled a public meeting for this Friday. They had the executive session (private) session today. Looks like answers are coming on Friday.

Just to stir the pot, I read Swaim and MHver both believe that the BIg12 will use pods for scheduling.

This is a bit overblown honestly. I live in CT and honestly ESPN doesn’t make any special accommodation for UConn athletics aside from women’s hoops (although ESPN slobbered over Notre Dame during the Skyler Diggins years and lately with South Carolina and Caitlyn Clark more than they really ever did during UConn women’s dynasty with Moore and then Stewart) and when the men are good. People at ESPN don’t give a **** about UConn football and didn’t even when they were at their peak with Randy Edsall.

In fact UConn has been upset publicly around here that ESPN doesn’t promote them more than they do because ESPN is all SEC and Big Ten or football blue bloods.

ESPN picked Boston College over UConn too for ACC expansion, rankling the Huskies.
