If you could put ISU into any Bowl Game against any opponent, where would it be and against who?
Probably the Sugar Bowl against Alabama or Georgia.

As a 90s kid for the old Big 8 Nostalgia I’m going Orange vs Miami.
After that I’d go

Fiesta would’ve been between Sugar and cotton had ISU not gone there.
I do hope Big 12 gets re-affiliated with Big Gap Bowl.
To call it the “Mecca of CFB” is absurd. It’s in an area that doesn’t care about CFB and it’s home team leaves it massively empty every weekend.
For me I like all the NY6 bowls, if any of them were chosen/rotated as the Nat champ I would be happy.
Personally for nostalgia and history with the Big 8/12 I actually like the Orange, Sugar, Cotton, Peach, Fiesta, all better than the Rose. I have never really cared as much for the Rose.
Because the Rose made sure it was only Pac10/Big10 teams except in years that mattered, (when it was made a nat champ game). It was never that much of an important game for me. The other NY6/BCS bowls have had more important teams to me over the years.
If there's a cfb Mecca its in Texas, it's the center of the fb universe.
And honestly any number of professional stadiums are more impressive than the rose bowl.

Looks like the Notre Dame decision is coming to it’s conclusion with them staying as an independent but signicantly less than their original asking price. Wanted 75 closer to 60 million due to NBC likely getting the Big10 v ND dame with the B1G deal and the other matchups being less desirable.
The question now is will ND be forced to join the Big 10 in the next media deal. Looks like they are getting squeezed due to the NBC/Big 10 relationship.

Notre Dame is never joining a conference unless they are told they will be kept out of a playoff if they are independent.Looks like the Notre Dame decision is coming to it’s conclusion with them staying as an independent but signicantly less than their original asking price. Caltech used to play most of their home games there until they quit playing football in 1993 and used to joke about playing before the most empty seats. Of course Covid games may have broke their record. I think the first few Rose Bowl games were played elsewhere on property that is now part of the Caltech campus.
I mostly agree with you although they might be somewhat more amenable to a conference other than the Big Ten.
That was my thinking prior to NBC deal with the B1G. They now most of the games they want from B1G media deal thus devaluing their non B1G games leading to the lower offer. They are okay for now doing that but once that deal is over NBC may just decide they would rather spend that 60 million and show say a Big12 conference game over ND Army. They still get ND for 1/2 their slots and don't pay for the filler that doesn't make money. Then ND may decide getting the attention and 100 Mil by joining the B1G is preferable to 50 mil and being independent. This feels like a patch move right now to the enviable from the article.

Once the B1G announces its deal and Notre Dame decides to stay indy, I don't think it will be too long before we know what will happen in the Big 12 and Pac-12 since they are the only dominos left this round. The ACC is locked up for the time being.
I trust Yormark to be working the phones at FOX since all reports are that FOX couldn't care less about the Pac-12. On the other hand, once Oregon, Washington etc. understand there is no B1G spot for them right now, maybe they are more inclined to get a Pac-12 deal on the books quickly.
There is a nice symmetry of there being two major FOX conferences (B1G, Big 12), two major ESPN ones (SEC, ACC) and the top independent with NBC. Meanwhile Oregon State etc. go to the Mtn West.
