We might be high on that list but it’s still the stupidest and most useless stat. Attendance is important, but capacity percentage means nothing. Which would you rather have - 50% capacity of a 100k seat stadium or 99% capacity of a 25k seat stadium?

Not to mention just putting a tarp over sections takes those seats out of the capacity number.

Warren said at B1G media days that there would be new media 'partners' announced soon. The articles I read assumed that mean NBC or CBS or possibly both. Also Amazon. I haven't heard of anyone 'ruled out' yet.
Amazon has been out for awhile, if there was a streamer getting involved it’s Apple as they specifically came back to the talks after the Cali schools were added. Anything is certainly possible at this point and whatever happened before adding Cali has to be reevaluated.

Wilner said 'a lot of empty seats'. Statistically, that isn't true for the big 12.

Depends. If demand is high for those seats in the 25k stadium, you might generate more revenue in ticket sales

Antitrust? Idk man. That seems like more like posturing by the B1G to squeeze UW and Stanford. Or the networks maybe for a bigger check for bigger "risk".

Theres still 4 conferences even if PAC dies. And they could continue by adding some crap schools. Pretty abstract risk.

Tarps aren’t bad always. Place to sober up with a little nappy or taking a coed for a little halftime show……..

You got that right. Except for Kansas, everybody is 88% and up. I wouldn't call that empty.

If I didn't know any better, I would think Wilner and Canzano work directly for the Pac-12. Where are the Big-12 based reporters (Randy P.?) touting facts and not propaganda in support of the Big-12?

Way up there
Anti trust stuff from the big 10 lines up with what they've been saying the whole time, they want the pac to crumble, then pick up the pieces. They are hoping the big 12 can do their dirty work.

Would antitrust even come into play here?

Its not like the big 10 (or any conference) is actually acquiring these schools. They are independent membership organizations. Being the most popular organization isn't an antitrust violation. Besides, our enforcement of antitrust is weak as ****

Driving some of the 4 corners to leave has been my assumption, and if they keep saying “maybe” on 2-4 other PAC it seems in play. Mostly because it could lead to dissolution and PAC brand being available, as well as more palatable to take Cal as a rescue than a pillage

We may know more once the BIG deal is out, there could be some clause in it for expansion.

Or it could just be Fox is trying for ACC schools, they may not know how many PAC schools they can take.

His hypothetical $35 million per team PAC-12 deal is a far cry from the $25 million number that’s been floated around. It’s also interesting that even in his rosiest hypothetical, the Big 12 number is still higher. That says a lot.
Yes agree, and it seems like they are comparing the number to the current Big 12 estimate and not an expanded conference.

I don't think they have a strong selling point. You can get paid less and then you're really screwed if anyone decides to leave.

And we already know the big schools are exploring options and trying to leave.

Sorry if posted, but a decent headline for the Big 12.... shocked I say! Shocked!

Pretty solid take on where each conference stands as of today.

Big 10 announcement of their media deal is the first domino to fall.

B12 is in good position - Especially liked the nugget that Fox and ESPN are bidding for 2025 rights. They are driving this disorder but if they want the B12 to survive it will and they pay for it.

Pac12 missed their chance to raid the B12 last year and now only has the "football after dark" to sell ESPN. Did insinuate that ESPN offer maybe depended if they get some Big10 rights or not.

Fox being out on the PAC12 and in on the Big12 should be all the Corner 4 needs to see the writing on the wall in my mind. I would also propose that why wouldn't ESPN then prefer just buying the Big 12 + 4 PAC10 schools rather than paying for both conferences)

I guess I didn't interpret that Fox & ESPN were going to bid on Big12. The term author used was "engaged".

I am sure the Big12 is interacting with both networks as they will carry Big12 FB games for 3 more years under the current contract.

The Big12 is probably seeking feedback about Pac12 adds and maybe game windows.

But, I bet the Pac12 would consider they were engaged in discussion with both Fox & ESPN prior to their 30 day exclusive window that ends tomorrow.

I would prefer that NBC or CBS make a strong play for Big12 as I have to believe Fox will favor Big10 with best Saturday game times and same goes for ESPN/ABC with SEC and ACC game times.
