Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

The goal of adding Pac12 teams is to keep payouts per school equal to better than projected based on the new Big12 (w Cincy, UCF, Hou & BYU).

Adding CU, UA, WSU & OSU would not accomplish that. WSU & OSU are probably the 2 least valuable properties in the Pac12. CU & UA might be around the Big12 breakeven payout per school. Adding Pac12 schools only makes sense if 2 of 4 teams added by the Big12 are among: ASU, UU, OR, UW.

Destabilizing the Pac12 doesn't do any good if it destabilizes the Big12!
I'm afraid AZ is marginal but your point stands. Killing the Pac doesn't matter if we take the worst. Hell, it could help! Lose OSU and Wazzu and pick up the SD rockstar!

Thank you! Great points I've wanted to post something to the same effect. Additive vs Dilutive

One could argue which schools would be in each category but OSU, CU and UA seem to be in the Dilutive category. WSU viewership numbers I've seen are surprisingly positive, but data can be skewed.

The WSU numbers are an outlier, they are the Leach years.

Bingo...they are all like "what's the hurry...the Big 12 will still be there as an option down the road"....

Perhaps, but at $25M instead of $45M because you were too pompous to move when you should have.

Difference between selling at an auction vs a garage sale. Right now is auction for Big12. Once B1G takes Stanford and UW, it's garage sale time kids.

Really like that Jason guy. I'm changing my mind on wanting a few of the PAC schools. I'd love to get Arizona and CU on board and then get a way better TV deal than the PAC.

I didn't realize that Arizona and TT have a bit of a history. Playing 30+ times in the 30's, 40's, 50's & 70's. The were both in the Border Conference for about 25 years.

Only the Big10 would be arrogant enough to go against NFL games on Sunday would work… even if they are late afternoon games I can’t see it working.

Sigh. This post is referring to a blog post which is quoting a source from Feb stating that NBC really wants the big ten. No where does anyone other then a random fan board post mention anything about games on sundays becuase guess what, that will never happen. NBC isn’t even really in the running anymore for a serious portion media deal.

Again, and it’s insane that this has to keep being said but just becuase it’s on the internet doesn’t make it true. If you’re going to post something maybe at least click on the link first to see what it is about.

Sorry, I missed this. When was this announced?
It’s what I’ve been hearing, not sure if they are approaching it differently now but before the Cali schools moved they were out. Fox will have the majority of the games, then BTN/FS1. The other player was Apple after the expansion but haven’t heard much there. NBC certainly could be making a big last min push but it would have to be something real aggressive or something that undercut ND.

Warren said at B1G media days that there would be new media 'partners' announced soon. The articles I read assumed that mean NBC or CBS or possibly both. Also Amazon. I haven't heard of anyone 'ruled out' yet.

NBC would pay a ton for it. Would be amazing on Saturday and it would do fine on Sundays.

I don't think this is talking about B1G games on Sunday. It's talking about NBC having a prime time B1G game every Saturday night, followed by NBC Sunday Night Football.
