16 is a great #. I might be in minority, but I like more protected rivalry games. Create easy road trips for fans.

In FB
Grp1: ASU, UA, BYU & UU
Grp2: ISU, KU, KSU, CU
Grp3: WVU, Cincy, USF, HOU
Grp4: TCU, BU, OSU, TT

Then rotate 2 teams from each of the other 3 groups each year.

In Hoops - 18 games
Within Group: Home & Road
Outside Group: Home Y1/ Road Y2 or vice versa.
Is UU University of Utah (like UA) or Utah University (like KU)?

Let's throw em a bone. Add OR State in wrestling only.
Oh I could see that as a possibility, but their are other Pac schools with wrestling that will be looking,
With all our extra affiliated wrestling schools not sure how many they will really want to add.

Oregon St, Stanford, Cal-Poly, CSU Bakersfield, and Little Rock are Pac wrestling, now that ASU is in the B12.
I could see the B12 adding OSU and Stanford in wrestling. Depending on what they do. The MWC doesnt have Wrestling, But I have a hard time believing they will add the other 3 Pac affiliates.

I could see Stanford trying the independent route, at least for a few years. I have a hard time seeing Cal make that work.

Stanford plays just about every sport possible, many in all different conferences or Indy, which is partly why the win the Directors Cup every year.

They feel like they could be a west coast ND, but it would be difficult to see them get a indy deal like ND. So who knows.

Stanford fields the second most teams in D-I with 36 (Harvard is #1 with 42, Ohio State #3 with 33).

The Director’s Cup only scores 19 teams max per school (baseball, women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball and then the 15 highest rated teams after that).

While they have an advantage over a lot of schools, there are several with comparable opportunity. Stanford dominates the Directors Cup because they are the best all-around athletic department. They’ve won 134 NCAA team titles.

He got us what we needed. Now he is going after what he wants.
I have to say, it would be weird to have a school as an almost all-sports member but then know they are playing an independent football schedule. I get that Notre Dame is that way with the ACC, but that makes sense because it’s…Notre Dame. They have a national brand. I know this was also BYU with the WCC, but they didn’t sponsor football. Just would be very strange.

You’d also have to assume there would be some sort of football scheduling arrangement made with UConn, similar to Notre Dame’s.
