We will never know for certain what we could have had on a full-time basis, but had Re-al been a Cyclone at a time prior to Purdy (with a few exceptions), he likely would have seen a significant amount of playing time. His time here coinciding with Purdy's was unfortunate. Hopefully he gets a chance to succeed. As long as he doesn't end up with someone we face, I'll try to follow him and root for him.

I'm still hearing 2 defensive players and now maybe 1 offensive. Depends on if one wants to be done or GT.

Using Lanning as an example of lack of creativity is a really bad choice. Everyone thought Campbell was crazy taking his big backup QB who hadn't played LB since junior high and making him a middle linebacker as a senior. That was about as creative as they come. And you are making assumptions about the plan for Lanning. He had his hands full learning the MLB position, they could very well have had a plan to put him back in at QB for short yardage situations once he got LB down. The fact that Lanning ran the ball on 4th and 1 in the second half of the UNI game - long before Park melted down indicates that it was the plan all along.
