Ray Rice deserved to get reinstated. He got punished for his crime, and then Goodell tried to punish him again for the same thing once he got pressure from the media. NFL is a complete joke. It's just sad that Peterson is now the one that is getting screwed over worse than anyone else in the history of football.
I hope Roger learned two things in this case: 1) don't lie to cover poor decisions, and 2) pay attention to what you have already agreed to with the CBA.

Bruce Arians puts emphasis on good character so I do not expect the Cards to go after him. And I sure hope not!
