Ranking vs OSU

24 ISU
25 Iowa

We have very similar schedules to finish the year. Both play a very tough ranked game next week, then one that should be a win, then a rivalry game.

I've got us at 23rd for the CFP rankings. I'm a little worried that we'll get jumped by West Virginia and Iowa because of head to head results. Hopefully the committee still likes those wins against TCU and Oklahoma. They should.

Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News didn’t even have ISU ranked. Huh?

Teams 10-20 could be picked out of a hat. I'm OK with Michigan State that high. They aren't the 13th best team in the country, but the ranking is fair.

#12 vs #24 gets an 11 AM kick.....

....meanwhile KSU/WVU get 2:30 on ESPN

:rolleyes:

Looking forward to the 11 am kick (9 am out here)... the 2:30/12:30 games have been fun, but it will be nice to be a little under the radar again. Let's pounce on the Pokes before they wake up and decide they actually want to be in Ames Iowa on the second Saturday in November.

Falling 10 spots for a close loss to a fringe top 25 team is a joke.
On the road where ISU was a 2-3 point underdog. I think a lot of journalists were looking for an excuse to confirm their thought that ISU can't actually be a good team with this big of a move.

Not to mention that Ohio State got destroyed by a fringe top 25 team and only dropped 8 spots. That loss is much worse in my opinion but OSU is still a good team because of their brand.

College Football is and will always be a "brand" league. Non brand teams don't get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to rankings. Yes we have 3 losses but we still have the top 2 biggest wins of anyone in the poll.

And that is exactly why that guy in my above post put us at 12.

[QUOTE="ZB4CY, post:........

This has to be a mistake... Has Iowa State at 12 for this weeks AP Poll. The next closest is 18 ......[/QUOTE]

This guy was a lot closer to being right vs. half of the voters who didn't even have us on the ballot.
