Who are we going to get? T.J.? That would be worse down the road if you ask me.
Find the right search firm and you’ll get a good result. There are P5 coaches out there looking that nobody even knows are looking to make a move. Illinois pulled Brad Underwood away from Oklahoma State after one mediocre season in Stillwater despite having no ties to Illinois or the Big Ten for that matter.

Whatever one thinks of Randy Peterson, it's his job to ask these questions in this situation. Pollard isn't responding to his calls for obvious reasons, and as the head coach it's Prohm's job to answer (or deflect) those questions in the midst of a disastrous season.

It may be uncomfortable to watch and seem unnecessary, but it's 100% fair game and nobody would think twice if it were the coach of another team facing this kind of scrutiny.

I agree the question should be asked. I haven't had a chance to hear it, but I can only assume it was asked is the dumbest and weirdest way possible.

For years, I've read these posts slamming Peterson for doing his job POORLY. Is this what Chris Williams will have to look forward to in another 30 years? When he's gray in the hair and websites are no longer the preferred media by Cyclone fans?

I wish Prohm and Randy would get fired.
You could FIRE RANDY and the Locust St Liar could put someone like Bob Dyer on the Cyclones Beat...He was much worse than Randy ever could be...Dyer went to the University of Iowa...Whereas Randy attended Drake University just like Johnny Walters.

Chris doesn’t ask dumbass questions. Randy should have known better to ask that question in that way. He wasn’t going to get an answer. Ask better questions!

Did you hear the questions that Randy Peterson was asking Coach Prohm about whether he had spoken with AD Pollard within a week and a half? And what was said during those conversations? Just a real jerk approach about it I’m sorry. And then he had no other questions for Coach Prohm. I’m an really amazed Coach Prohm kept calm and didn’t reply to the stupid question with a stupid answer.

Listen, I’m frustrated with the overall team and the direction it is going and has gone. But I really don’t think by firing Coach Prohm this season that there would be any better out there during this pandemic. You just are not going to see many dismissals at head coach after this season. You think there is going to be Mark Few’s just waiting in the wings for us?? Get a grip people!

You deserved a dumb symbol for this because of the 2nd paragraph. Prohm is a class guy, I like him as a person very much but yes he needs to be gone the moment this season is over. If you think he doesnt then you need to get a grip because we dont need a "mark few" we need a good coach that can win a conference game WITHOUT A YEAR GOING BY COMPLETELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worse than winless or very few wins in the conference, and regularly losing to bad mid to low majors at home? 20 losses?

I have no idea what TJ would bring, but most P6 teams can be really bad and trip on a few conference wins.

I appreciate Randy for asking the questions. It's on everybody's mind, and I'd rather he not ask a bunch of softball questions that ultimately get the same response every time.

Way up there
I think if it were someone other than Randy, I wouldn't have a problem with it. I mean, how can you cover this team and not talk about the most relevant thing regarding the program? Randy's history of questions like this point to a different agenda though, I don't feel bad for him getting crap about this.

It is already done. Steve is resigning at season’s end.
Steve is resigning?? I'd be surprised if that happened. Not saying Prohm is going to be the coach next year because I don't think he will be, but resigning?

Because it was a ******* stupid question Randy. Ask better questions that he'll actual answer.

Those questions you posted are great questions if you're a pissed off fan who want a pound of flesh but they're unprofessional and insulting coming from actual reporters who have to maintain relationships with coaches. And your idea that Prohm will answer your "better" questions more directly is, to put it generously, a fantasy.

Come on man....Those could easily be questions the media could ask of Prohm.

"Fan morale is low right now, how are you going to bring them an exciting and new product in the 2021/2022 basketball season?"

If he answers with a vanilla response of "keep doing what we're doing" then yeah, he's signing his own death warrant.

Those are dumb questions to ask right now. Even if the decision is not made, Prohm knows he’s in trouble. You ask that question if they decide to keep him.

Read his quotes from last night where he talked about his he hopes his guys can be rewarded for continuing to work. He said to take him out of it and he knows he’s judged on wins and losses.

I think he knows he’s gone and he’s trying to finish things off as good as possible. Not to save his job but to give the players something to feel good about.

I want Steve gone just as much as the rest of us but it's not Steve's job to be thinking about next year's basketball team / aspirations when he's still coaching the 2020-2021 team.
